When it comes to surfing and buying a limited edition watch, timing is everything. That’s double true when it comes to purchasing surf-themed LE timepieces. Stop being loose and be careful. This is the third and final “Surfer” limited edition, with Zenith producing just 100 pieces. If you don’t catch that “wave” now, you will be remembered forever as the person who wiped out three times in a row forever. A white ceramic clock with a blue gradient openwork dial hits like a refreshing wave.
After Microbloust Titanium ignored the Classic Skeleton Night Surfer in 2021 and defied Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero in 2023, they will launch their final Zenith x Time + Tide collaboration in the series. The “Surfer Trilogy” ends with Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic (49.9309.3620/85.I001). This limited edition of the 100 watches is perhaps the boldest of the three models, but it makes perfect sense. Looking at the three watches, the final version of Summery White and Blue is a logical evolution of a bold concept.
Zenith x Time + Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramics hitting the beach and waves with tide waves
If you’re not a surfer and love the beach, this watch is for you too. According to its creator, the watch has a beach-inspired twist. After the dark microblast titanium case, the refined 41mm white ceramic case is the exact opposite. It’s cool in another way, and it looks brighter and lighter. The case’s scratch resistant/beach proof ceramic is also very light. The screw-down crown and 100m water resistance rating ensure that you don’t have any problems with your watch even if you take a dip or hit a wave on a longboard.
Go back to the gradient blue open dial and towel to inspect the skeletonized movements, creating a wonderful moment of Zen. Like the first two collaborations, the open dial fades from a dark, slightly mysterious blue at the top to a refreshing, casual light blue at the bottom. However, the selected blues are several colors lighter than the blue color of the previous model. The bridge mimics Zenith’s old fourth-place star logo, and with the superluminova spraying, the nighttime visual effects are nothing but spectacular.
High frequency transparency
It is displayed via the openwork dial and the sapphire window on the caseback. There is a skeletonized automatic, high frequency El Primero 3620 SK Caliber. It proudly shows off the world. This is a movement rendered to match the star-shaped bridge, providing the wearer with a seamless light blue tone on the dial. The movement displays hours and minutes, with energetic 1/10 second hand driven directly from the escape. That’s what this 5Hz (36,000VPH) movement can do for you. This caliber also features a hacking mechanism that allows you to accurately tick the time. The rotor connects to a bidirectional winding system to constantly replenish the 55-hour power reserve. Finally, the brushed main plate, bridge and star-shaped rotors show an impressive blue finish.
Duck diving!
Zenith x Time + Tide comes with Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic and White Ceramic Integrated H-Link Bracelet. However, Zenith supplies the watch with a star-patterned white rubber strap, with both options having a butterfly clasp. Changing from bracelet to strap and back is an easy and tool-free process thanks to the quick change mechanism.
Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic with a “Hangulous” attitude costs CHF 18,900 / €20,500 / US$19,600. The watch will be on sale at 14:00 on July 11th. Yes, there’s a bit more time before I get the plunge and prepare. However, as you know, this watch is the last “surfer” so don’t wait too long. If you want to duck dive and get a watch, check out the Time+Tide Watches and Zenith websites.
