With its openwork dial and flying carousel movement, the Ulysse Nardin Freak is one of the most famous timepieces in the watch world. It is also a popular collaboration platform. Its latest creation is the new Freak X Enamel Sediqui, which features a titanium case and a guilloché dial.
Ahmed Sediqi & Sons, the Middle East’s leading luxury watch retailer, has partnered with Ulysse Nardin to create a stunning limited edition. Freak X Enamel Seddiqi combines a modern look with traditional dial finishing techniques. The colors are also a fresh twist on Freak X.
Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel Sediqui
Ulysse Nardin has chosen “grey” titanium for this new edition. This appears to be standard titanium, but the brushed and media-blasted surface gives it a darker tone. Case dimensions are 43mm x 50mm. Ulysse Nardin also states that the perceived thickness of this watch is 10mm, but the total thickness with the domed sapphire crystal is 13.78mm. The watch comes with a patterned black rubber strap and a folding titanium buckle. A Delugs rubber strap is also available as an option.
“Yas Blue” enamel guilloché dial
Instead of a modern surface, the Freak Seddiqi chose Yas Blue enamel as the background color, inspired by the setting sun over the Arabian Gulf. It comes in a teal color and adds a different look to the usual steampunk inspired design. Ulysse Nardin also offers other guilloché versions, but this is the best-looking shade of Freak that I’ve seen.
Familiar UN-230 movement
The Freak X Enamel Sediqui is powered by Ulysse Nardin’s in-house automatic caliber UN-230. This modern movement has a 72-hour power reserve, uses a silicone balance wheel, and consists of 206 components. The vibration frequency is 21,600vph and is visible from the front and back of the case.

The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel Sediqui is a limited edition of 30 pieces. The price is AED 154,000 or CHF 38,500.
