Of course, I was impressed by the new land residents, but I was not fascinated by it. To be honest, it’s been a while since the crown launched the watch that fascinated me. Yes, all watches have great build quality and benchmarks, but like the Mercedes S-Class, modern Rolex is not adorable at all. It’s not clear whether Geneva executives agree with me, but the brand has permanently launched the Rolex Oyster with three soft shaded dials. New pastel beige, pistachio and lavender dials are available in “OPs” 28, 31, 34, and 36. The 41mm version comes in only two “flavors”: beige and pistachio. I practiced 41mm pistachios and 36mm beige oysters for a long time.
The three new colors 2025 that Rolex introduced between watches and wonders look alive. They are softly spoken pieces that stand out in a world filled with enthusiastic, sparkling sunray dials. The new pastel colours of the permanent lines of oysters can be described as “muted lavender, warm sandy beige, fresh pistachio greens.” But I can sum up my initial reaction to seeing them in waw in a word: appealing. For me, that was the biggest surprise. The Modern Rolex is impressive, especially a sport model with a sturdy case and a shiny ceramic bezel. But I find the eternity of these oysters far more appealing.
Try the Rolex Oyster in two of the 3 soft new shades
Let’s start with some of the colourways that escaped photographers. The lavender dial is not as muted as Rolex wants you to believe. It is also as shiny as the 2014 “grapes” and not nearly purple, but the hue is intense. It’s like Provence in full bloom. Every June and August, the lavender fields bloom in Provence, and seeing them on beautiful, sunny days is a rich and soothing experience for the senses. At the end, he sighs, “Amazing…” get it? Well, that’s how I felt when I saw the lavender op. And when I tried out the 36mm beige and 41mm pistachios, the same thing happened to me more or less.

36mm Reference 126000-0012
I like the 36mm OP on the wrist, and the 41mm version isn’t ridiculous to me, but I wonder why Rolex canceled the 39mm size in 2020. The jump from 36 to 41 is odd if there are cases with diameters of 28, 31, and 34mm and 34mm. The ideal size for the OP (and many others) for me is 39mm. Anyway, find my favorite current size and color.
Quite a chalmers
Rolex nailed the colour. The green ice cream-like hues are sweet and creamy, giving the OP a sporty, elegant and playful look. Lack of dates, therefore, Cyclops produces a less-faced look than most of the brand’s other bibliography. This is a modest Rolex with a twist.
However, the 41mm Oyster Perpetual is not a fairly new look. The 41mm model comes with a new reference number 134300 and an updated steel oyster case with a more elegant percentage. The 41mm model oyster bracelet also boasts a thinner clasp. These have changed little and are almost impossible to notice when practicing flash during busy clock events, but over time a series of small improvements become a serious evolution. And it’s truly a powerful trademark of Rolex. Continuous improvements make it perfect (nearly).
The Beige 36mm OP also goes well with the wrist. It’s like clothes. Sometimes I wear slim (36mm) and sometimes I wear something with a relaxed fit (41mm). Yes, I would also like the opportunity to wear something with a tailored fit (39mm), but I think I’ve already made that very clear. For both test sizes, the matte lacquer pastel dial combines the softness of the colour with the strong look of the applied index. These oppositions create a balance. These ops are representations of the soft side of Rolex. Without the cyclops and grooved bezels, you’ll be a Rolex that you wear for yourself, not for someone else. And although the pastel coloured version is very 2025, the atmosphere is a bit vintage. They are not straight retro, but a bit of imagination, but the beige and pistachio dials look to be weathered and softened by time and light.
Difficult facts
Within the Oyster Perpetual 36 and 41, it’s business as usual. Get automatic 4Hz caliber 3230. This movement features a Para Felex shock absorber and blue Palac rom hairspring. It also offers ultra-high chronometer certification with an accuracy rating of ±2 seconds per day and a power reserve of 70 hours.
We won’t give you all the prices of any size of the Rolex Oyster permanent line, but we will tell you that the cost of the 36mm OP (Ref 126000) will cost 6,400 euros and 41 mm (ref. 134300) €6,700.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree that these pastel-colored oyster permanent models are increasingly fascinating about showing off their cliché hype models and much needed in the much-needed world of watches?
