It’s no secret that we are fans of Tissot PRX here at Fratero. With multiple team members, including you, owning the PRX PowerMatic 80, we will meet new additions to our very interesting lineup. The latest expansion of the large PRX collection is a pair of red dial versions of PRX quartz in 35mm and 40mm cases. We had the opportunity to look closely at them and find ways to compare these to other models in the collection.
Having a Tissot PRX on my wrist is like going home. I had the black dial version for three years at this point and still love it on the bits. I may not wear it religiously like when I first bought it, but whenever I do, it puts a smile on my face. The clock never loses its effect. As a result, I considered adding a second one to my collection. Naturally, I choose the color of the light dial, as opposed to the black dial I already own. The Ice-Blue variant of Lex is a great option, like the Light Minty-Green version. The new red dial options may be the PRX Quartz models, but they have just become part of that equation.
The Story of Red-Dial Tissot PRX Quartz
Let’s take a look at these two new PRX models. As most of you know, the Tissot PRX is available in 35mm and 40mm sizes. Additionally, you can choose between a quartz model or an automatic model. Both are great options, but our favorite is the mechanical PowerMatic 80 version. Not only does it offer the appeal of a mechanical caliber, but the dial also has depth and detail thanks to the outstanding “waffle” pattern.
The two new models, as Quartz versions, have a waffle pattern, but combine a sunburst finish with a bright red shade that quickly stands out from the rest. The Sunburst dial is no new in the PRX as we’ve seen several other colors, including green, blue, silver, gold, and brown.

Therefore, these two new red dial versions will help you fill in the collection further. At a glance, it shows that there are currently 52 models to choose from. It’s an impressive number and it’s amazing to say there’s no PRX for you. As mentioned before, I was able to easily choose another two or three options that I love.
Details of the new Tissot PRX Quartz model
However, let’s focus on the new Red Dial option in this article and discuss the details of both models. Kick off things with the larger of the two, 40mm in diameter and 10.4mm thick. The tonneau-shaped case matches an integrated bracelet featuring a Tissotto brand butterfly clasp.
The smaller of the two is 35mm in diameter and 9.6mm thick. Within the 40mm and 35mm cases of these models, there are ETA F06.115 or F05.115, respectively. These 3-jewel quartz movements feature heavy drive technology and end-of-life indicators.
Focus on the dial so that it doesn’t get in the way. The new red sunburst dial is clear. They will give caution compared to some dark options. What immediately came to my mind was the annual string of Chinese New Year’s releases with a red dial. To be clear, these are not part of it, but that’s when the red dial pays special attention. Apart from that fun reference, the dial gives the watch plenty of visual glow. They have the same slim application time markers as previous models, and the seemingly oversized mobile phones that we have come to know and love. The hands of both time and moments help to read time in the darkness.

Like a smart mix of bracelet brushes and polished parts, I have always loved the little details of the PRX. The links are mostly brushed, but the short edges between them are polished. As a result, they reflect the light and create small sparkles that constantly draw my eyes towards them. These clever details illustrate the ideas that took place in the development of these watches. When combined with a powerful dial collar like this Sunray Red, you’ll get a watch that affects your wrist.
This is the biggest difference compared to my black dial PRX, so it was great to have had the opportunity to wear the version with a bright dial. From a sizing perspective, I feel the 40mm version is at home on my wrist. That being said, the 35mm version is also fantastic. It’s been quite a while since I tried any of these, but I have to say that despite preferring the larger version, it didn’t feel out of place on my wrist.
That’s also what I like about Tissot’s huge hit. In addition to the 35mm and 40mm versions, there is a wide range of dial colors, so everyone has a PRX. These red dials neatly round out the collection and make you wonder what’s next in the highly popular PRX line. It would be interesting to look into it. For now, these new red dial models are an active addition to the lineup that can be yours for 395 euros. Tell us what you’re thinking in the comments below!
