Frederique Constant Classic Classic Perpetual Calender was manufactured almost 10 years ago, and I am still amazed and amazed. When introduced in 2016, it was a mechanical permanent calendar made in Switzerland, the most affordable on the market. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the watch, its friendly prices are still USP. However, the updated look of the QP is also an attractive feature. After the slimdown version updated earlier this year, FC will introduce three new iterations. Two are steel with blue or silver dials, and a more luxurious limited edition of 37 pieces in yellow gold with two steels and a black onyx dial.
you know what? As mentioned before, let’s start with the price, which is a typical Frederick constant USP. The two stainless steel references with silver (FC-776S3H6) or navy blue dial (FC-776N3H6) are both available for sale for 9,995 euros on navy blue alligator leather straps with folding clasps and retail. Limited to 37 watches, the Onyx-Dial Gold Edition (FC-776ONB3H7) is placed on a black crocodile strap with a gold clasp and costs 29,995 euros. These are fairly sharp prices for complicated watches with timeless appearance. So let’s look beyond the price.
Three new versions of Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture
Earlier this year, FC announced a slim-down, updated version of the classic perpetual calendar production with salmon dials. Shows sunray patterns, applied silver tone diamond cut indexes, and hand-polished dorphine hour and instant hand. The 40 x 12.1mm steel case features a retro-inspired convex anti-lective sapphire crystal, a water-resistant rating of 50m, and a sapphire-equipped display case that allows for a view of the lower caliber. The new steel offering will continue with the footprints of that watch in either dark blue or silver attire. The yellow gold case has a slightly thicker 12.25mm profile, reducing the water resistance rating of 30m.
The layout is classic, showing the 9 o’clock day subdial, the 3 o’clock date, the 12 year jump cycle and the 6 o’clock moon face indicator. It’s nothing new, but it’s certainly a balanced layout with timeless charm. With a pure black onyx stone dial, the gold edition is the most impressive and dramatic of the three novelties. The polished gold hands and indexes of the watch offer a gorgeous contrast with a deep black shiny look on the Onyx dial.
Inside
Inside the case was Frederick Constant’s 34th in-house development movement, the new manufacturing caliber FC-776. It shares much with the previous FC-775, including layout, 4Hz frequencies and 26 gems, but it almost doubles its predecessor’s 38-hour power reserve and instead offers 72-hour healthy ones. As mentioned before, the transparent caseback offers a view of complex movement.

The caliber offers decorations such as Perlage, Fanseaped Comtes de Genève and openwork rotors. You can adjust the calendar display via the orthotics on the side of the case and set the time with the crown.
Final Words on the Manufacturing Watch of Three Continuous Classic Permanent Calendar
Frederique Constant created its own name by offering luxury watches in traditional style at affordable prices. The three new classic perpetual calendar manufacturing variants are no exception. They follow successful recipes, but there are some delicate adjustments. The thinner case, Lestor dials and modernized movement are value-added. These watches are for those who appreciate traditional watchmaking, expressed through sophisticated finishes, classic onion crowns and slim rugs. These FC QPs are intricate watches with a dressy look. They don’t burn the world of watches, but they may warm your watch heart. Do you feel that?
