Farer released the early Aqua Compressor series in 2017. This has made it one of the brand’s earliest model lines, founded in 2015. Strangely enough, the model disappeared from the catalog for a short time, but it returned in three colors. Why did it disappear temporarily? As new movements, improvements were desired.
London-based Farer has been on an exciting journey since 2015. I remember the first release. They were fun and colorful, but they all had quartz movements. A lot has changed since then, and the brand has listed 16(!!) models on its website. Guess: Everything is mechanical! Still, the focus on vibrant and exciting colors remains unchanged, and the value of money plays a powerful role in every reference. The new Aqua compressor goes the same path, but brings a considerable update.
Updated Favorites and 2 New Models
Before starting a practical review, it is important to note that three models constitute an updated Aqua compressor line. However, the aesthetics haven’t changed much, so fans of previous generations don’t need to worry. It is also useful to know that the launch of new works involves continuing support from Farrer in the trust of Hebridian whales and dolphins. The effort of the black dial Aqua compressor returns and combines with a blue PVD titanium case and a bright white dial to the new Endeavor Ocean Blue. We received a proper green dial on the third Aqua compressor model known as the Hecla Hunter Green. The name comes from the 1815 Royal Navy bomber and later became an expedition ship. Let’s proceed to review.
Hecla Hunter Green, the farther Aqua compressor
The green model arrived in a bold and comfortable 41mm x 45mm grade 2 titanium case. It features a 2.2mm thick double-dome sapphire crystal on the top with anti-enhancing treatment. The 1.6mm thick sapphire crystal allows you to see the movement of the case.
Two tapered titanium crowns with bronze inserts are mounted on the right side of the 12.5mm thick case. Please note that these dimensions remain the same from previous generations. Returning to function, the top screw down crown controls time settings, date changes and winding. The lower crown is also screwed to operate the unidirectional dive bezel inside. Each Farer has twin gaskets attached to it, ensuring a depth rating of 100m when it is loose. Once they are completely sealed, the crown and other compressed gaskets guarantee a competent 300m water resistant rating.

New engraved green dial with serious room
One feature I enjoy about farther than usual watches is that different models of the same line often have different dial surfaces. In contrast to other Aqua compressor pieces, the Hecla Hunter Green matches the engraved grid pattern dial with a green internal rotating bezel on a bright scale.
For applied indexes, Farer continues to use Lumicast, a ceramic and Super Luminova blend. In this case it is the Super Luminova X2. It lasts incredibly bright and long in the dark. Hours and minutes hands follow the theme of color in sections filled with white painted borders and rooms. At the end of the second you will find a brighter version of the brand’s triangle logo, the calling card for many more distant watches.
New movement within the aqua compressor
There is a fight between athletic makers that are not currently named ETA. Our view is that Sellita and La Joux-Perret supply more and more evauches to brands big and small. The Aqua compressor illustrates this, with the latest version showing the switch from Sellita to La Joux-Perret. Instead of the previous Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré, the brand moved to the La Joux-Perret G101Soignée. The lightness of French for both movements simply means that they are the best products from each. For La Joux-Perret, it means finishing and adjusting the Cote de Geneve for accuracy in four positions. In this application, the movement includes a gray PVD coating and a custom tungsten rotor with a wave motif. In terms of specifications, the major differences are the 68-hour power reserve and the 38-hour previous Serrata.
Comfortable on the wrist
Farer features Aqua compressor Hecla Hunter Green with a suitable green natural rubber strap with two keepers. It’s a great job to dress up your watch while still maintaining a fabric-like texture and a functional and sporty look. Above all, it is extremely comfortable on the wrist and perfectly fits the C-shaped case. The straps with a gap between the cases do not appear to have been well executed.
Another good option from farther is the use of titanium pin buckles. I’m sure that in many cases brands add value with some kind of folding clasp. In many cases, these more complex “features” can be bulky, inexpensive, or difficult to adjust. A neatly carved pin buckle is almost always the best answer.
As for fit, the lightness of the titanium and the flexibility of the strap make this watch an easy choice as a comfortable everyday piece. The large dial with a diameter of 41mm may look big, but the short lug-toe lug of 45mm is guaranteed to fit small wrists. There is no responsibility for readability. We are also pleased that Farer has chosen not to interrupt the design in the date window.
Pricing and availability
Today is the official release date for the new Aqua Compressor Watch. In other words, you can order it. The price is also very reasonable at 1,375 EUR / 1,295 US dollar / £1,175. Considering the top line La Joux-Perretébauche, Titanium Construction and Compressor Design, this feels like a good look at money. Again, this move is a big announcement here, but the lovely new colours are also newsworthy. Let us know what you think about the updated Aqua compressor.
