Singer Reimagine is one of the brands that has opened up a unique niche in the world of watches. The brand made an impact with a conceptual new take on classic watches and retro designs inspired by the world of automobiles. In particular, over the last few years we have seen great releases exploring new territory. At DiveTrack last year, the singer brilliantly redefines what a diving watch is. Additionally, this year’s Heritage Collection Chronographs have a different vintage look that stands out elegantly from other models in the catalog. With the new Caballero, the brand releases a series that shares the same design DNA. Adding new and impressive calibers has a lot to discuss.
I had a somewhat vague relationship with the singer’s rethinking. I am deeply grateful for the watch, both in terms of concept and design, but for a long time, when I discuss the brand I love, it wasn’t at the very top of my heart. My favourite singer watch has been the great Track 1 – Geneva Edition for a long time. The technical and conceptual reimagining of what a chronograph is and the implementation of the design is amazing. I still think it’s one of the best watches the brand has created.

The story of the new singer Caballero
Recently, the singer has released some amazing new watches. The best examples are the 2024 Divetrack and this year’s Heritage Chronograph collection.
Singer Divetrack
The latter is closely related to the new Caballero. A glance at today’s release shows a clear link to the heritage chronograph in dial design. However, in a wider range, you will find it perfectly fits the brand’s clear overall style.

Singer’s Heritage Chronograph
As always, the design tells only a small part of the story. Another fun detail is that it is located at Caballero Fabriek, the former factory of the tobacco brand that Fratello’s office named the building. So when new singer Caballero landed on my desk it felt like a clock homecoming.
“Caballero” was translated into the Spanish word “gentleman” and the singer chose that name. Because it relates to the concept of elegance, accuracy and radical restraint of watches. All the traits we want to associate with gentlemen exist in this new Caballero collection. Finally, the biggest news is its own Calibre-4 solo tempo. This offers a six-day power reserve thanks to the 4-barrel construction. As you know, this is more than just a new release.
Details of the singer Caballero collection
The new Caballero comes in three variations with black, blue or green dials. All three watches feature a 39mm diameter stainless steel case, a 10.5mm profile and a 45mm lug-to-lug. The brand’s distinctive C-shaped case is 50 meters resistant.

Singer Track 1 Prototype
The case is beautifully finished and inspired by watches from the 60s and 70s. If you look closely, you can see that it resembles the case design of the prototype Truck 1 chronograph auctioned in 2020.
The case is combined with a lacquered dial separated by four insert rubies. We had the Empire Green version for reviews. In addition to the ruby in the inset, only the 12 o’clock branding application logo and the golden flange surrounding the green dial are found. I also saw the latter element in the Heritage Chronographs and the 1969 collection. Hovering above the dial is the singer’s signature mobile phone. The hour and minute hands in the shape of arrows are filled with orange rooms to match the orange hands. As most of you know, green and orange are classic colour combinations that work very well.
Reading time is never a problem, as a result of colorways, minimalist designs, and dominant hands. But the same applies to the same phone and the same phone and black dial version. After looking at images of all three models, we must admit that it is difficult to select three favorites. I like all of them equally.
Paired back dial and completely new caliber
As a fan of the singer’s design style, I had no problem getting used to this rather minimalist dial. In fact, the lack of decoration made me even more highly praised the beautifully designed dial. You can see multiple layers of green lacquer and feel almost. This adds a certain depth to the big picture.
However, this design didn’t immediately beat all of my Fratello teammates. In particular, the four visible rubies were the points of competition. I understand that these can break up as design elements, but they are more than just decoration. They visually connect you to the center of the clock, the new unique Calibre-4 solo tempo.
This new movement was created from scratch and is the singer’s first, fully unique caliber. The ruby in front will tell you part of the story, but when you turn the clock you will see what’s left of it. It has a stunning manual find movement with a unique 4-barrel configuration. As a result, the watch’s power reserve is 6 days (144 hours). Two sets of twin barrels provide parallel power, ensuring consistent and stable torque for a full runtime of six days. The designation of Solotempo (“Time Only”) suggests a modular architecture that allows for future additions of complications.
Singer Calibre-4 Solo Tempo
The new Calibre-4 Solotempo needs to completely hurt 109 turns. It operates at 28,800VPH, contains 33 gems and has an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day. Thanks to its unique architecture and beautiful finish, this movement is an eye-opening delight. It features galvanic anthralacytic microblast plates and galvanic rhodium-plated microblast architectural bridges.
Plus, there is rhodium plating Diamond-cut chamfers, rhodium-plated wheels hoop on either side, and rhodium-plated barrels feature a Kolimasonne (snail) finish. The four barrels have sculptures related to the caliber specifications.
Bending this stunning movement is an absolute joy. It has a clear, firm feeling, with peace of mind. This does not make caliber winds at all difficult, but oozes the quality and refinement that is the great feature of this time-only watch.
Wearing new singer Caballero Empire Green
What stands out immediately when you place the watch on your wrist is how well it is proportional. This case is modest in size with a beautiful, slim profile and can land gently on your wrist. I was surprised at the great wearability. That being said, you have to be a fan of the design to make this your everyday wearer. As mentioned, the dial design is rather divisive, with the four rubies being the ever-present storytellers of this watch.
But I quickly fell in love with this new singer Caballero. Thanks to the soft fabric strap with leather details and branded stainless steel buckles, it is not only comfortable, but also lightweight. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Empire Green Colorway. That said, the blue version looks great, and it would be hard to go wrong with the black version.
All three Caballero models are available at 17,500 CHF before tax, and are in line with this year’s Heritage Chronograph series. If you like the singer’s distinctive design, the new Caballero is a wonderful, comfortable everyday wearer with an impressive caliber that opens up endless possibilities for the future. More than ever, the singer is excited to see what has been rethinked next.
