Time flies when you have retro fun, right? The original introduction date was 10 years ago, and the Oris Divers 65 collection feels like a brand staple. I have always found the chronograph version to be one of the more attractive models. Well, today is my lucky day. Because I can go practically with the latest Oris Divers 65 chronograph in silver and ocean green.
This new version comes with a choice of sustainably sourced deer leather straps (3,750 euros) or stainless steel bracelets (3,950 euros). Let’s take a closer look!
Oris Divers 65 Chronograph
In the heart, the new Oris Divers 65 chronograph is a variation of the colours of existing watches. Now, you will certainly be allowed to not have all the specs of the original version at hand, so let’s start with a brief summary of what we’re dealing with here. The stainless steel case is 40mm in diameter, 48mm lug to lug and 15.4mm thick. The Oris gives a series standard 100m depth rating and fits with a under-screw crown.
The Inside Thicks Caliber 771 is an oris Sellita SW510 outfit. The automatic movement offers a fulfilling 62 hours of autonomy at 28,800 beats per hour, tickling mites. This dual subdial layout presents a chronograph counter for a few seconds and 30 minutes with a 9 o’clock run. Oris omits the date.
The movement is hidden behind a steel case. These calibers are more reliable than clean, so it’s a wise choice. Above, there is a dome-shaped sapphire crystal on top of the new silver sunburst dial. The marker comes with a Super Luminova for easy reading at night. Oris chose the crisp white room, leaving the vintage feel to the overall design rather than the fake patina.

The new Oris Divers 65 chronograph comes with a subtle silver sunburst dial. This adds to the already powerful retro vibe. The colour is attractive because it can really change the design. For example, on the black model, the Minute Truck never stood out to me. However, in this version, that’s true. The short marker is placed in the inner radius of the long 5 min. This causes the Minute Track to be optically pushed inward, giving it a slightly sloppy feel. I wonder if the dial feels more spacious when these short markers are pushed into a more typical position on the outside. I know, I know… I’m knit picking.
In green. Oris calls it “Ocean Green,” but I associate the name with Bluer Shades of Green. The green of this Oris Diver is warm with 65 chronographs and almost looks military or olive green. But Oris applied it in a beautiful and subtle way. It sometimes looks almost black, but bright lighting provides a neat character. The clock does not sacrifice its diversity in the process. This watch can be paired with a blue jacket or sweater without any problems.

I think the Oris Divers 65 chronograph is a very beautiful watch. This new colorway just adds that emotion. Yes, the whole line is very retro. This means that you won’t come here to observe a bold new design choice, but at least it’s clear and honest. Buy an Oris Divers 65 chronograph. Because I like the look of the old Diving Chronos, but I need the latest build quality, reliability and guarantee. fair enough!
On the wrist, the watch looks very attractive. It will captivate you with sapphires domeed over beautiful sunray dials. The applied index shines in sunlight, but the green gives the appearance of the signature. It’s really very beautiful! My advice is to get it with a bracelet with rivets. Oris bracelets are better made than most bracelets and are noticeably thinner, which I love. Ah, the rivets are real!
My one complaint is the watch thickness of 15.4mm. The Swiss supplier of the Ebauche movement does not produce thin automatic chronograph calibers in this segment, so Oris can hardly blame this for this. The problem is that such thickness doesn’t stand out on more hardcore tool watches. However, the Oris Divers 65 chronograph excels in vintage elegance and makes the thickness very noticeable. It breaks some of the illusion of dealing with actual vintage watches.
Close thoughts
Overall, I think Oris offers a different strong candidate with 65 chronographs for divers in Silver and Ocean Green. The watch is clearly handsome, well constructed, neatly finished and a joy to wear. Although not large, it is recommended primarily for enthusiasts with slightly larger wrists as the thickness is not noticeable.
Still, if you’re going to do much worse than the Oris Divers 65 chronograph after the vintage charms you combine with modern build quality. But now you have to face a tough decision between a beautiful black model and this charming new silver and green product. Something tough!
