Orange has long been an important colour in diving watches, but Omega has now brought this very visible colour touch to Seamaster Diver 300m. The brand has been running a little over the past 12 months, bringing a new look and feel to the 300m diver. Are they giving us a gorgeous, full bronze gold and Burgundy model? Mix bronze gold, titanium and green and you don’t have time to die at all. Or, when you shift the story with monochromatism and Milanese bracelets, the new look of this line is unnoticed and unappreciated. This new dating windowless aesthetic continued with Omega’s latest release, Seamaster Diver 300m Orange.
The word orange in the product name may suggest a more dramatic use of colours here, but Omega has decided to use rather tactically bright shades. The orange highlights have been added as varnish to the centre-mounted second hand, the application time markers of the four cardiac hours, and the Seamaster Log Mark engraved on the dial. This watch comes with an option with an orange elastic strap, which adds a pop of color to the overall look. You can also get it with a new mesh bracelet that has proven to be a fan favorite since its release.
The rest of this watch is as expected from this new look of diver 300m. We make you feel closer to a time when you don’t have time to die than the classic wave dials that many of us love. Of course, there are many points of continuity between this new style and the rest of the collection, between the twisted lying rugs, cone-shaped helium escape valves, and scalloped unidirectional rotating bezels. Omega hasn’t abandoned her baby in the bath.
Inside is the reliable Omega Caliber 8806, a meta-certified chronometer movement with legendary coaxial escape. This caliber has a power reserve of 55 hours and can withstand the magnetic force of 15,000 glass. This is an impressive feat that is difficult enough for anyone to wear every day, especially when pairing with a 300m water resistance. With a width of 42mm and thickness of 13.8mm, it is not the smallest watch in the world, but it has not stopped him from being one of the most respected divers on the market.
