Among luxury Swiss watch brands on the market, TAG Heuer is one of the few that is serious about connected watches. Since 2015, TAG Heuer’s collection of luxury smartwatches has been going strong alongside its lineup of mechanical and quartz analog watches, and the brand shows no signs of slowing down on this front. Case in point are the two newest additions to the lineup, the TAG Heuer Connected 45mm Bright Black Edition and the Connected 42mm Golden Edition, both of which feature a deep black and gold colorway.
The TAG Heuer Connected 45mm Bright Black Edition watch has a black DLC sandblasted grade 2 titanium case with a steel crown covered in rubber for optimal grip and functionality. The top of the case is topped by a ceramic bezel, which is finished with gold lacquer and PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) for a style more commonly found on more traditional watches than smartwatches. The crown and pushers are also gold lacquered to match the tone of the bezel and other details on the dial. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal and the caseback is black DLC titanium.
The larger black model comes with the new Connected 42mm Golden Edition watch, TAG Heuer’s first smartwatch with an all-gold PVD watch. Again, mimicking the look of a more traditional analogue watch, the watch’s rose gold PVD steel case features alternating polished and brushed finishes. There’s also a rose gold PVD steel crown, domed sapphire crystal and a black calfskin leather strap with red lining. This strap, like the one paired with the Connected 45mm Bright Black Edition, is fitted with a practical folding clasp with double safety push buttons. The 45mm Edition is available in black DLC titanium, while the 42mm Edition is in rose gold PVD steel.
Both smartwatches feature a dial called “TONOS,” available in 10 different colors, all designed with gold indexes and complications to match other watches. In addition, both watches are water resistant to 50 meters and run Wear OS by Google. The large Connected Bright Black Edition It is equipped with the calibre E4 45mm, while the smaller Connected Golden Edition is equipped with the calibre E4 42mm.
For those who want to wear a flashy watch but don’t want to leave the internet behind, TAG Heuer offers the latest generation of Connected watches in gold hues. The Connected 45mm Bright Black Edition (ref. SBR8A83.BT6302) is priced at CHF 2,700, while the Connected 42mm Golden Bright Edition (ref. SBR8011.BC6652) is priced at CHF 2,250.
