Returning to dope demand, Fratero EDC is here again for the first time since 2022! In this series, members of the Fratello team can peek into their bags and share daily carry (EDC) items. Rex kicks things off by sharing his daily essentials. What is he carrying with him and will he still shrepp the same thing as he did three years ago?
To answer that last question: No, but I wish I had done it. One of the 2022 EDC items was my favorite pen, Coral Red’s 2016 Montblanc Heritage Rouge & Noir Ball Pine Pen. With an exterior inspired by the 1906 Rouge and Noir Fountain Pen, we celebrate the 110th anniversary of its technically advanced writing instrument. It is slim and has a warm, deep coral red colour, in addition to its unusual shape and design. The most impressive feature of the pen is its snake-shaped clip that carefully but firmly intertwines the pen. And when you see the green spinel eyes of a snake, they hypnotize you. Well, they apparently hypnotized me between this year’s clock and wonder since I lost the pen. A busy clock event is the perfect place to lose what you love.
Rex shares his EDC essentials: The sad story of loss to get started
I didn’t realize I had lost my pen until the clock and wonder had finished. Not being able to find it was nothing but trauma. I searched it everywhere and it didn’t help. My loss of Rouge et Noir had the practical consequences that I no longer felt comfortable bringing flashy pens everywhere. I have some other great writing instruments from Mont Blanc. Still, apart from the fear of losing them, there is another problem. Neither of my other pens are as personal as the coral Rouge et Noir. rebuiding I feel it’s wrong so now I’m using the pen I received. For example, you are holding a meeting.
Thankfully, I was lucky enough to put together a small selection of ballpoint pens for the Caran d’Ache 849. This Swiss-made pen’s distinctive hexagonal design can be written. I have a bright, flaky couple from Roger Dubiis and a black colour from Audemars Pigouette. None of them are in the photos, but that’s because I don’t want to jinx these pens.
Miss Mo bag
Let’s start with what we can actually see in the photos and what we can see from my bag. It is a heavy, high quality desert camo jackod mismo M/s canvas shopper. The zipped tote bag has brown full-grain leather trim and pockets large enough to hold the phone and cardholder. My laptop fits, but it squeezes tightly. However, the M/S canvas shopper with a less big bag is 37cm long, 41cm high and 10cm wide, so it cannot pack too many unnecessary things. Although this colorway is no longer produced, the black camouflage bags from the current collection look like a good alternative. It looks really good and could be my fall/winter bag.
Ray-Ban
On bikes, Oakley is my go-to brand, but I prefer Ray-Ban sunglasses from my bike. Olympian II is my favorite pair, but a little flashy and a little dressy. I wanted something a little more toned and modest. I chose the RB4378 with a transparent frame, black temple and gray gradient lens.
This style is a new interpretation of 4376, so guess. These sunglasses are more feminine than masculine DNA, but I like them. Plus, the medium size and hybrid fit work for me. It’s also light and comfortable, and can blend in with any outfit if there is no color.
Three tools
Lume’s flashlights, Bergeon Pocket Knife and Notebook are essential for your watch journal. The personalized notebook is a gift, and a Swiss-made Bergeon pocket knife with Fratero branding comes standard. The Meistersinger brand Lume flashlight is essential for checking how the clock lights up in the dark, but you can also play to enjoy the room with the Omega Speedmaster Replica 3594.50.
What is your EDC? I’m always interested in looking at (new) gear, so let me know in the comments!
