Introduction: Le Legre Louis Erard x Constantine Chakin Time Eater III – Don’t fight regulatory watches. wear!

Let’s start with riddles. What is one eye, one mouth, two hands, what is the rebellious soul? You got it – Le Legre Louis Erard x Constantine Chakin Time Eater III. The million-dollar question is whether humor belongs to luxury watchmaking, but when it looks good, it doesn’t matter if you think a watch is funny. And although there is no taste accounting, Louis Ellard’s distinctive regulator layout and Constantine Chakin’s highly colorful, graphic dial work very well. After a previous successful collaboration, the duo has returned with two limited edition 178-piece watches. This is the 42mm version that shows the blue mint ring sold exclusively by Louis Erard, and the 39mm version with a red instant ring on the outside of the dial sold exclusively by Konstantin Chaykin.

Some list monsters are rarer than others. The 39mm and 42mm le Regulateur Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Time Eater III models are limited to 178 units, but the 39mm watch (reference 85248AA90.BVA150) is more well-known. There are no photos yet. So far, only the 42mm version (ref. 85237AA90.BGA087) with a blue mint ring has been documented, but that’s fine as the watch shares so many features, such as the CHF 4,450 (tax) movement and price. It’s fine for now, but at some point I’d like to see evidence of 39mm presence.

Introduction to Le Regluture Louis Erardo x Constantine Chakin Time Eater III

Both have the most expressive look of the Time Eater III edition of Le Regluture Louis Erardo x Constantine Chakin. The vertical regulator layout and Konstantin Chaykin’s naughty wrist monster design make for a very original, stylized dial. At the 12 o’clock position, the hypnotic monoeye tracks the time.

At 6 o’clock, the mouth with rotating teeth indicates that the clock is running. The curved, fine hands in the center tie everything together and clean the time at first glance from the dial.

The shiny stainless steel 42mm version is 12.25mm thick, and the lug-to-lug length is 49.6mm. Between the lugs, Louis Ellard squeezed a 22mm black toad leather strap with a quick release spring bar. The strap tapers to 20mm with stainless steel pin buckles, showing blue stitching and blue rabbit leather lining.

The versions sold by Chaykin may have a smaller 39mm case, but the 12.82mm profile means it is thicker than the 42mm Time Eater III. It also comes in lugs ranging from 45.9mm lugs to lug lengths. Between the rugs is a Calfskin strap with black particles with tone-on-tone stitching and a black Calfskin lining. It comes in tape from 20mm between the lugs to 18mm on the buckle.

Those who eat either time are limited to 178 monsters

Both cases are water resistant to 5 bars (50m), and the three-part structure features dome-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-enhancing treatment on both sides. Appropriately, both watches also have a signed Konstantin Chaykin Crown, with the caseback engraved on the inscription “Limited Edition 178.”

Don’t be afraid to eat this time watch. Instead, wear it like a regular watch. Yes, it’s a very straightforward watch, but that’s the point too. Certainly, the 42mm case is a little big on the wrist. I like the look of the red chakin version a little more, and I think it fits the 18cm wrist. In any case, there are many wrists on the watch. And it will scare your conservative watch friends in all sorts of ways, this is a big bonus.

Time Eater had Serrata!

The interior of both Time Eater III models beat the automatic regulator type Sellita Calibre SW266-1. The movement of this 31 jewel 4Hz is 25.6mm in diameter and 5.6mm thick. It also displays the decorated section through the back of the display case, revealing an openwork rotor with a black lacquered Louis Eldered symbol. The wristwatch will no longer be able to move after about 38 hours. It’s not a scary time.

Remember the 2023 Le Legre Louis Erardo x Constantine Chakin watch that has turned green and purple? They have been gone for a long time. As you know, the Relé Gluteur Louis Erard x Constantine Chaekin Time Eater III is the final version of this very specific regulator series. If these two were gone, they would disappear forever and never be seen again. It’s a relief for some, but for others it’s a disappointing missed opportunity. Anyway, we warned you about this watch!
