The Fergus Nash Brellum Pilot LE.1 GMT Chronometer is the company’s latest pilot’s watch. It features both GMT and chronograph complications, and strikes the perfect balance between sporty and dressy.
We’ve shown a lot of love Pandiar of Brelam We’ve featured watches from this series in the past, but it’s been a while since we’ve shown you what else they have to offer. With a striking monochrome dial, the new Brellum Pilot LE.1 GMT Chronometer is a dream watch for anyone who dreams of flying, or traveling in general.
The Brelam Pilot LE.1 GMT Chronometer takes inspiration from some of the greatest pilot watches in history, giving it a familiar and intuitively laid out look. The case is a nice mix of flashy and sporty, with brushed lugs for a premium look, and a polished bezel that frames the dial with a touch of luxury. The lugs are also smoothly beveled, drawing the eye to the polished chronograph pushers and the signed crown. As with any true pilot watch, the watch is definitely oversized for the current trend, making it easy to read the finer details. It has a diameter of 41.8mm, and while the lug-to-lug length was not disclosed, it will likely fit comfortably on an average wrist with some curvature. It’s not the kind of watch you’d want to hide under your cuff, but the 15.9mm thickness is definitely notable.
The dial color is between silver and white, providing just the right contrast with the brushed metal hands and a nice contrast with the hour markers. Printed scales are used for every quarter minute, a classic triangle at 12 o’clock to indicate direction, and framed Arabic numerals everywhere else. To avoid over-cluttering the dial, the Brelam Pilot LE.1 GMT places the date display at 6 o’clock within the chronograph hour subdial. The watch also has space for a GMT complication, with the only color on the dial being the skeletonized red tip of the GMT hand. The 24-hour markers are printed around the perimeter of the dial, with some numerals omitted to make the look cleaner.
The movement that powers the Brellum Pilot LE.1 GMT is the BR-754, which is based on the ETA/Valjoux 7754. It beats smoothly at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 46 hours, and of course it also features the complications of date, chronograph and GMT. As printed under the Brellum logo, the watch is COSC chronometer certified, guaranteeing an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day.
