While many brands are trying to raise their pricing ladders, it’s nice to know that some continue to focus on high quality, affordable watches. While Hanhart may not qualify as a high street brand available in every city, the historic company’s watches are worth considering seriously. Today we’ll take a quick look at the new 415 ES Panda and reverse panda models. I hate ruining the ending, but after checking the details, these watches are hard to object to.
Hanhart may be best known for his Red Pusher pilot chronograph, but the brand produces many other watches. The 415 ES is just one of the model lines, and instead of airplanes, these watches are inspired by the style of watches worn by cars, especially race drivers. It’s not a new concept, but when a good looking retro chronograph comes along, I’m on it. Furthermore, as you can see in these works, details, specifications and prices are all marked.

Han Heart 415 ES Panda and Reverse Panda
These stainless steel chronographs have a 39mm case that is neatly sized 46mm case, so it’s perfect for the good. The 13.5mm profile contains a highly domed sapphire crystal with a reflective coating. The pump-style pushers and massively signed crowns bring these watches to the 60s. Additionally, it has a bidirectional, 60-click external bezel. Was Hanhart satisfied with the aluminum inlay? This is definitely not the case, as the brand chose black ceramic for its 60 minute insert.
Traditional 60’s style case
The 415 ES shows cases reminiscent of many chronographs from the 60s. The sharp and polished chamfers contrast with the top and sides with the brush. These small traits show attention to detail, an attribute that is often missing in affordable watches. The Hanhart didn’t include a photo of the caseback, but the watch uses a solid, screw-in enclosure with engraved sequential serial numbers. Beautiful cases are welcome in the market where display bags are showing their everyday movements. Additionally, a simpler solution is usually best because it has a depth rating of 10 bar.
Clean dial and previous logo return
Hanhart recalls motor racing as an inspiration for the new 415 ES model, but with inherent similarities to Breitling and others’ famous watches with military or aerospace focus. Of course, some people wore these pieces, even on racing cars and ski slopes. The Super-Luminova C1 GL X2 is used in printed Arabic numbers and syringe hands. Of particular attention is to the hand with a bright central chronograph. Its design reminds me of the famous Jardur Bezelmeter, one of my favorite vintage watches!
Apart from bright materials, the clock includes a contrasting subdial that displays the total of the seconds and 30 minutes that are running. Details continue in different styles in these registers. Again, this is a nod that is faithful to a particular vintage chronograph. An explanation is given to incisive observers who may have questioned the creation of these models. Typically, the Hanhart dial displays a gorgeous logo script from the brand’s early watches. However, in the 60s, the logo was updated to the “Flying Wing” style. This logo is back to the 415 ES and feels it suits the style of the watch.
Manual winding movement equals bliss
One of the features I admire about Hanhart is the company’s consistency in providing manual winding movement. The 415 ES comes with the Sellita SW510 m, a movement with a 58-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 VPH. These are great movements, but the work goes further by ensuring daily accuracy of 0/+8 seconds at all measured positions. Again, this is a lovely detail that is not given to a price-rich chronograph.
Multiple Strap and Bracelet Options
At Hanhart, there is a lot of flexibility when it comes to straps and bracelets. Black, light brown and dark brown leather are standard 20mm options, each with a signed stainless steel pin buckle.
New oyster style bracelets are also available. For the first time, it includes the brand new Toolless Micro-Adjustment system, offering up to 10mm of extensions. This is located within a push button clasp, which also has a wing logo. Finally, another nice touch is the screws that connect the links instead of the scary pin-and-collar system.
Hanhart 415 ES Price and Availability
The good news is that the new 415 ES is available on the Hanhart website. Perhaps the better news is that these watches are competitively priced at 2,490 euros for leather straps and 2,690 euros for bracelets (price includes 19% VAT). It feels like you’ll be monitoring a lot of money, especially considering specifications and details such as ceramic bezels and exercise regulations. Hanhart’s watches are usually well received in Frateros, and I think these will go down just like readers. What are your thoughts on these good looking chronographs?
