Minimalist specialists H. Moser & CIE have launched their new Endeavour Pop collection. It features an exciting range of dial colors.
H. Moser & Cie is a brand with a definitive design language. They create a stunning clock with a minimalist approach, focusing on the jaw-dropping dial. To say H. Moser is a conservative brand is harmful. Their watches, sometimes lacking obvious details, are far from bland. However, it can probably be explained as being suppressed as the previous dial option was turned over by turning the table over to 11. When he unveils his new Endeavor Pop collection, he gets H. Moser has combined two semi-precious gems on each dial as well as 18 different models in colour pairs with these new watches.
The Endeavor Pop Collection consists of three basic watches: The Small Seconds, Tourbillon and Flagship Minute Repeater Tourbillon. Each model is available in two different gem combinations, with stones sliced and layers polished to complete the shades of sitting perfectly together. Colors such as blue and green, orange, turquoise, green and pink interact with rules of color theory, creating visual harmony and balance.
First, let’s talk about clocks. The small seconds arrive in a 38mm size of stainless steel, with only 10.4mm thick, and is brilliantly proportional. The case design is elegant and minimal, as you would expect from the brand. The dial layout is a typical H. Moser, with the exception of a small 6 o’clock second sub-dial and of course a beautiful polished leaf hand, cluttered and lacking logos. Self-winding HMC 202 caliber drives the watch. This is intricately decorated and visually stunning when viewed from the sapphire display case. It also has a rotating weight of 18 carats of gold, running the watch at 21,600Vph for at least three days. The small seconds are finished with matte grey alligator straps, each unique and finished with a steel pin buckle. Each small second model is limited to 28 for each colorway.
The next step is to Tourbillon, which features the same case design in stainless steel, with an increase in the proportion of up to 40mm in diameter and 13.5mm in thickness. It’s not a big step, but it requires extra millimeters for movement. Generally speaking, jumping sizes is relatively unperceptible at first glance. Again, looking at the sapphire caseback, the gorgeous HMC 805 caliber movement, equipped with the same 18-carat gold rotor, drives the watch for at least three days at 21,600bph, but this time with the 6 o’clock flying Tour Billon. Finding a Tour Billon with a steel watch is unusual, but I think this is a good move to express technical capabilities from Moser, but keeping the watch modern, modern and not overly grand. The Tourbillon model also comes equipped with a dark gray crocodile strap. Each of these models is limited to just eight.
Finally, the real ShowStopper from the Endeavor Pop Collection is the Minute Repeater Concept Pop, with a dial that is probably slightly more loaded than the others, but for good reason. First, the case features the same proportion as the Tourbillon, which is 40mm wide and 13.5mm thick. However, this model is made with 5N Red Gold, giving the watch a completely premium feel and making it the star of the collection. Equipped with a manual-wound HMC 904 caliber, this watch features both a flying tourbillon and a minute repeater function, and runs in a quarter or a few minutes. The hammer and chimes appear on the dial along with the 6 o’clock tour bellon, continuing to run the clock at 21,600Vph for an 80-hour power reserve. All of this movement is hand washed and finely decorated with famous Moser double stripes and skeletonized bridges. Again, the gray crocodile straps are also displayed on the minute repeater, but this time it features a red gold folding grip clasp.
However, the main attraction of the Endeavor Pop collection is its dial. Each dial is made from vibrant and very unusual natural stones, cut, polished and paired to give each watch a different character. All three watch variations are available in six combinations: Burmese ja, turquoise, coral, pink opal, lapis lazuli and lemon chrysoprase. In a typical Moser style, there is no logo or printing. This is about the effects of color and what it is. The pairing of each dial variation is inverted to provide an inverted version, so if necessary, you can use a pink opal disc, with Burmese jade as the background, or for reasons that there are 18 different variations in the collection. The dial is a grand interpretation of minimalism, satisfying bold and immeasurable variations.
What really striking is the use of colours and how vibrant they are. Unlike H. Moser, he doesn’t do anything unexpected. However, the contrast and vibrancy of these models is very different from what we saw before. This is a trend in stone dial watches today, but it also brings a sense of humor and joy to the brand.
