It has been two years since Rolex introduced the current Cosmograph Daytona. With its updated design and new movement, the new Daytona was the biggest release of 2023 with a series of fantastic releases from the Geneva brand that year. In 2025, Rolex will expand its Daytona collection with an incredible new 18K yellow Daytona. If the standard dials on the yellow gold model were relatively predictable in gold, black or white, the new Cosmograph Daytona features an incredible turquoise lacquer dial. Let’s check out the new model.
As most of you know, the most vibrant and colorful dials of all standard Daytona models are the platinum model ice blue dials. For the gold model, the brand simply introduced a fairly simple set of colors. Obviously, there are standard black and white options in different configurations. Plus, the steel and beautiful sundust dial add a little more sparkle to the presence. Finally, the full gold dial is a clear standout in the lineup. Last year, Rolex added two sets of gemstones, white gold Daytona models to its lineup with a mother-of-pearl dial. This year, the brand has decided to properly become colorful and introduce a vibrant turquoise lacquer dial for the 18K yellow gold model on the OysterFlex bracelet.
Basic specifications of the Gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona model
Let’s take a look at the Rolex Daytona specifications soon. The new turquoise blue dial model features a familiar Daytona case of 40mm diameter, 11.9mm thickness, 46mm length, and 20mm between the lugs. As most of you know, for the Daytona model of the Oysterflex bracelet, the precious metal case matches a black ceramic bezel with numbers and markings corresponding to the yellow gold case.
This new Daytona ref. 126518LN, yellow gold case matches the bright turquoise lacquer dial. The black subdial and black text on the top half of the dial contrast beautifully with the blue dial’s colour. The dial combines yellow hands with 18k yellow application marker. They are all filled with white Super Luminova, ensuring excellent readability in dark light conditions. Plus, all the subdials feature yellow hands and details. Finally, we get a hint of red in the form of the Daytona name on top of the 6 o’clock sub-dial.
Rolex caliber 4131
The familiar Oysterflex bracelet with a yellow gold Gridel Rock clasp finishes the look of your style. Overall, the yellow gold and black combination really works. The new turquoise blue dial offers its vibrant colour glow to quickly highlight this new model in the Cosmograph Daytona collection.
Like the previously released models, the Rolex in-house caliber 4131 is running on this new Daytona. This chronometer certified automatic chronograph movement was introduced in 2023 and has an accuracy of ±2 seconds per day. It operates at 28,800Vph, has 44 gems and offers a 72-hour power reserve. Final Thoughts on the New Dial for the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Model
Overall, it makes sense that Rolex is expanding its Cosmograph Daytona collection. So far, we’ve seen the brand’s iconic chronograph dials. But they were also what we were expecting from the Geneva brand. With this new turquoise lacquer, the brand will change the colorfulness to 11. This new Daytona offers bright options for those considering purchasing a new gold Rolex Daytona. New Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. The 126518LN with a turquoise lacquer dial is available for 37,700 euros.
This new dial isn’t necessarily the dial colour you’d expect from a famous chronograph, but I absolutely adore it. Is this the beginning of a new series of colorful dials? Yes, please! In the next step, we’d like to see a complete gold model with such a lively dial. For now, this is certainly a dial that speaks to people. But as already mentioned, the Geneva brand covers you if you like something a little more conservative. I praise Rolex for getting things up for its iconic chronograph. That’s why I can’t wait to put this new Rolex Daytona on my wrist. I know that smiles can get big and very big.
