Timekeeping is an important element in most sports fields, so it’s not surprising that the world of watches has a long-standing relationship with sports. Today’s episode of Fratello Talks will look at the links and discuss the existence and impact of watch brands in sports. The Nacho is joined by RJ and Lex to run some of the most memorable watch brand/sport pairings. They also see sponsored athletes and teams, official timekeepers, and many other ways in which the world of watches exists in the sport. Finally, consider some virtual pairings that they want to see. But as always, we start the match with a wrist check.

First up is RJ. He doesn’t wear exactly the sportiest watches, but he keeps it “branded.” This is Breguet Classique Sousscription 2025. This brand marks its 250th anniversary this year. This was the first major release to mark this opportunity. He has been looking forward to getting this since it was announced in April. Keep an eye on the site for future practical reviews.
Rex is wearing a sporty look in the shape of the new Chronoswiss Pulse One Sand. This titanium integrated bracelet watch combines the brand’s most well-known features (oversized onion crown, coin edge bezel and regulator style dials) with a modern twist. Check out our hands-on reviews and read his thoughts on this remarkable watch.
Nacho wears his citizens’ promaster Aqualand JP2000-08E, and a sporty watch. Introduced in 1985, this classic diver was the first diver to have an integrated depth sensor. Leaning towards a diving watch look, the managing editor paired it with a 24mm shark mesh bracelet.

Everyone knows at least a handful of these partnerships: Rolex and Wimbledon, Tag Heuer and Formula 1, Tissot and Tour de France, Tudor and Cycling, Fublotto and The Ufa World Cup, Panerai and Luna Rossa Sailing Team, Omega and the Olympic Games, and more. Today’s episode of Fratello Talks covers Watch Brands’ involvement in the sport. We also delve into the world of brand ambassadors and official timing partners. We bring things together by suggesting potential watch brand/sport combinations that we think have many possibilities.
