Today, special guest Øystein Husby, co-founder of Straum Watches, is taking part in Fratello Talks. RJ and Nacho sat down with him to talk about everything, including the origins of the brand, and how the background of Oslo architecture and design co-founder Lasse Falstad, Norwegian wild nature influenced the clocks, recent innovations and, finally, the new Fratero x Straum Jean Mayen Titanium. The second collaboration with the brand can be pre-ordered from now until 6pm on July 3rd. So, whether you’re already a Straum fan or not you’ve already discovered what the brand has to offer, we recommend taking part in this episode. Before you get into it, it’s time to check your wrists!
Wrist check
We start with RJ wearing his original Straum x Fratello Jan Mayen in steel. This was the first limited edition in collaboration with Straum. With its unique textured dial and red tone, this watch will continue to attract attention two years from now. You can read the full story here.
Next, Øystein rocks blue dialed Yang Meien with a stainless steel bracelet. Newer versions of this watch and other colorways will be available in titanium from today onwards, completing all the features and innovations mentioned in the show. For more information, please visit the Straum website.
Finally, I’m Nacho wearing the new Fratello x Straum Jan Mayen Titanium. It features an improved version of the dial, with subtly sharp and bright red as the more prominent texture. However, as you can see, the new titanium case is a game changer. Its matte texture accentuates refined accents and matches the newly designed elastic strap. We weren’t satisfied with this!
