If you don’t realize it, the first half of the year is already behind us. So far, what is the best time to look back at some of the best watches of 2025? That’s exactly what RJ, Darn and Nacho do in today’s episode of Fratero Talk. Over the past six months, we have hosted hundreds of watch releases from many brands. That is, men cannot do all justice. Still, they each chose five watches to offer a decent choice and to ensure that the episodes didn’t run for more than an hour. So check out 15 of the best watches of 2025 with some honorable mentions. But before that, it was time for a weekly wrist check.
Wrist check
Dahn wears his longtime favorite Gada watch, the 2006 Cartier Santos Garbe XL. The predecessor, completely proportional to the current Santos model, has many charms. The completely square bezel gives a different look, and the 4:30 date always divides opinions, but gives the watch a functional edge. However, the golden factor is size. Something about the 32x45mm case nails the sweet spot. Can you blame Darn for loving this so much?
You wouldn’t be surprised to see RJ win gold in the 2019 Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Edition at Moonshine Gold (see 310.60.42.50.99.001). Like Dern, RJ wears his “hero” watch, or at least what has become a constant presence with his wrist synonyms.
Until the end, we have Nacho wearing his rze×fratello Resolute Pro “Contour” limited edition. This joint model was introduced last March. The coated titanium case and unique forged carbon dial make it look great today, just as it was when it first came out. Fratello Talks: Best Watches of 2025 to date
In today’s episode, Daan, RJ, and Nacho make a retrospective dive into the watch released in the first six months of 2025. They each have selected five favorites that debuted in the meantime, so clear the calendar and check it out to match this special, long-standing episode. As always, we don’t give them everything, but here we take a peek at one pick from each person. As mentioned above, RJ went with the new Rolex land residents. It’s probably a controversial choice, but it’s probably a safe bet, as Rolex tends to make all the right calls (in hindsight). We need to wait as the years go by and how we feel about it.
Daan chose a completely different thing in terms of price and form factor, as well as being a watch with a solar quartz movement. Tag Heuer Fulula 1 has returned earlier this year, nodding to the original since the late 1980s. This new 38mm is totally available, choosing the original charming Darn as one of his top picks!
And finally, Nacho chose the Citizen Promaster Aqualand 40 Anniversary Limited Edition (ref. JP2008-06E). You’ve heard him already heard a poetic wax about this, so we won’t get into it here. But we hand it to him. This ocean-shaped diver has certainly won a well-earned place on his favorite list, unlike what’s out there.
But don’t let everyone have all the fun. What was your favorite watch of 2025 so far? Please let us know in the comments below. I recommend the Fratello Talks action next week.
