It’s great to reach the New Year with your favorite brand watch. AQUASTAR BENTHOS H2 is a welcome release that can be appealed to a wide range of viewers. It is affordable and fits beautifully above all.
The original BENTHOS 500 was a very innovative mechanical divers watch that debuted in 1970. This watch, which has a chronograph -like operation and a slow 60 -minute time counter, was different from other sturdy divers watches. The watch was produced for several years until the clock market suddenly ended, until 10 years. Quartz has appeared on the market and the situation has changed forever. Today’s new BENTHOS H2 looks as if it had happened if the quartz crisis had not begun for several years.
Aquastar Benthos H2 back story
It is important to note that BENTHOS H2 is not just a modern reprint. A drawing including inspiration for the latest release was found in Aqua Star’s archive. In the late 1960s, the brand made a future design with a helium release valve. Unfortunately, this idea was not realized in the 1970s, but now has an effective interpretation of that concept.
The concept has been embodied
Aquastar’s Rick Marei sent me Benthos H2 without providing any details. I always say that seeing a watch is a special experience, and I try to remember my thoughts and emotions. The latest Aquastar watch is definitely a BENTHOS model. It has a characteristic C case, exterior bezel, and twin control. However, my first impression after seeing the package of this watch was something different. It looked small and thin.
In fact, BENTHOS H2 is not just a continuation watch. It also works as a watch that is perfect for your current taste. The 904L stainless steel diver is 40 mm wide, 44 mm long, and 11.9mm thick, including flat sapphire crystal. There is also a rating of 300m depth. This gives a better option for purchasers with smaller wrists than H1, which is larger 42mm x 47mm and 16mm thick.
Familiar appearance and additional functions
So far, Aqua Star has produced three latest Bentos models. The above -mentioned H1 is a 500 -meter -compatible diver with an unusual crown at 2 o’clock with an external dive bezel. BENTHOS 500 has faithfully reprinted the original watch. It has a chronograph movement and a 60 -minute time counter. However, BENTHOS H2 is a simple diver with a screwed crown at 2 o’clock for time setting. The lower crown is a screwed helium release valve.
I usually have an ambiguous impression about the helium valve, but this appearance is related to the concept diagram and is similar to 500, so it works in H2. In terms of design, this watch faithfully follows the BENTHOS pattern. This is converted to a black semi -light dial with a night light index and a black -and -white angle chapter ring. The “Old Radium” Super Minova, which is light, is also applied to the rectangular needle. The orange second hand, like a simple stick, is different from other BENTHOS models because the tip is not arrow -shaped. Outside, the twin signed crown is binding by a single -direction 120 -click dive bezel and a black ceramic insert equipped with a completely emitting marking. The action is not too light, not too heavy, perfect.
BENTHOS H2 – Very wonderful and thin
A historic brand, such as Aqua Star and Doksa, is permitted when producing a thicker watch. Most of the original items were thick, but they can still be worn. That being said, there is something nice for a slender diver with a solid spec. I received this BENTHOS H2 with a black 20mm Tropic strap. Flexible straps and small and thin cases give a perfect fit for people with thin wrists. Also, since it is thin, there is no problem wearing it under the sleeves of the shirt. If you attach an optional rice bead bracelet, it is elegant enough to step into the office.

BENTHOS H2 has the same case as H1 drawn here.
Equipped with Sellita SW200-1
Aquastar keeps the clock beautifully and slim by using automatic winding Sellita SW200-1. The movement is hacked and there is no date function. Usually, the power reserve is 38 hours and the frequency is 28,800 vibration. Like other Aquastar Benthos models, BENTHOS H2 is equipped with an all -steel screwed case back. “Aquastar-Suisse” and the starfish logo are carefully engraved.
H2 scoring
BENTHOS H2 is a true wearable watch of Aquastar, like Model 60 and Deepstar II. In other words, it is a candidate as a daily watch made at a high level. Rick Marei has brought us another attractive release that can compete with the famous divers ‘famous divers’ brands. As of January 24, you can order 500 H2 on the Aquastar site for only $ 1,190 with TROPIC or ISOFRANE rubber strap. At an additional $ 100, you can choose a stainless steel rice bead bracelet. Delivery will start in May 2025. At the end of the reservation period, the price of the remaining rubber straps rises to $ 1,490.
BENTHOS H2 should be able to easily satisfy those who felt that the previous BENTHOS model was too big. Furthermore, it is great to see a watch inspired by history, not direct reprint. I think this work will work. Feel free to share your comments on this latest Aquastar release in a comment section.
