Before moving to London, I was forced to admire the Horage brand from afar. But last year I have seen some pieces on metal at various events. They are impressive and funky, often competing against boring watches. Additionally, Horage focuses on innovative movements at fair prices. The new Decaflux is an affordable watch with a new in-house caliber, made to withstand daily encounters with magnetic fields.
The last Horage model I reviewed was the Omnium K2, a modern take on Dress Watch. Using vibrant dial colors and faceted crystals, various versions presented alternatives for those who are bored with the same formula. Today’s new Decaflux is also guided in bright colors, presenting a new movement, the K3. Incidentally, Horage has also announced that this movement is being sold to other brands.
Horage decaflux
The new decaflux is a 40mm x 46mm watch made from 316LMO stainless steel, and is a more corrosion resistant alloy than the 316L. The watch features three rows of bracelets with push button clasps and a 10mm fine-tuned range. It is rated as 100 meters in water resistance, making it an all-around candidate. For those who hate bulky watches, the latest Horage has a 9.98mm profile.
Homage dial from Decaflux’s Horage
Horage doesn’t fracture bones about Decaflux’s inspiration. Certainly, the sparsely populated dial with rhodium plating and an index full of Super Luminova reminds me of another clock. Color choices – refined black and sunray blue – and lightning seconds of seconds solidify the ode to aborted Rolex Milgauss.
However, each watch is a surprise. In the movement that feels very much about the Horage brand, the polished black model has five layers of red reflective coating on sapphire crystal. The Sunray Blue version follows the suit with a blue coating. This is a cool touch, but it stands out from the side and has less dominating than the Rolex application.
New K3 movement
Aside from the fact that Decaflux is a new model, the other news is the introduction of the K3 movement. There will be a detailed article on the caliber soon, so please forgive me if I don’t get into Nittigritti. Silicon is a game changer for athletic components due to its coercive properties, low friction, high durability and low weight. Furthermore, it is beneficial in everyday life due to its constant interaction with electronic devices, including magnetic fields. This document also helps increase the time between services.
Unfortunately, silicon was unique to several large watchmaking conglomerates. However, now, with the expiration of these patents, Horage is able to develop a new and affordable movement, the K3. The K3 features silicon escapes (pallet fork and balance wheel) and main spring. The Decaflux is the first model to use the new caliber, but Horage also offers it to other brands as Ebauche.
Regarding specifications, the K3’s frequency is 25,200VPH and a power reserve of 96 hours. The 25 Jewel’s automatic caliber is also a certified chronometer with accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day. It has an decorated brass rotor and a grey-coated bridge.
Overall look of Decaflux
From the rendering provided, Decafulx in either color looks like a handsome watch. The case is neatly shaped with a downwardly facing lug. The bezel and midcase feature a mix of polished brush and brush surfaces, adding a visual appeal. The very easy-to-read dial with bright bright indexes and hands also works well. My only beef has lightning-shaped hands. Perhaps I’ll fall in love with it directly, but I would like it to be a little narrower, especially near the central pinion. Furthermore, I have yet to decide on the decision to celebrate Milgauss directly with this detail. Again, I love coloured anti-refactive coatings and find them fun and different from smaller brands. So I need to see these in metal!

Available at a reasonable price
Decaflux retails for CHF 2,500. This makes it the most affordable model in the catalog with healthy margins. Given the new K3 movement, chronometer certification and overall specifications, I think this watch will be delivered technically. Otherwise it appears to have a crowd pleaser dimension and judging from what I know about the offering of Horage, it should give a good finish. The Horage bracelet is also nicely made and punched above the weight. The aesthetics of the dial are most decision-making factors. At this point, I don’t know if I like blue and black more. Hopefully I will meet them soon for them to make the final decision. Tell us what you think about the new Decaflux, the K3 movement, and the overall value proposition.
