In the world of independent watchmaking, few brands make an impression right off the gate. But WRK’s watch did just that with last year’s debut ACF-01. Now with the release of the ACF-02, the brand is maintaining a bold, lightweight approach that highlights the original model while refined its design language.
WRK Timepieces is the brainchild of Nasko and Caroline. Caroline is a husband/wife duo whose passion for watches is revealed in every conversation. Last year I met them in watches and wonders and had the opportunity to try out the ACF-01. The titanium case, bead blast finish and strike orange hook and loop strap all left a strong impression. Developed in collaboration with Le Cercle des Horlogers SA, the movement was beautifully carried out and had a true testimony of the level of craftsmanship WRK was aiming for.
Using ACF-01 on the wrist during Watches and Wonders 2024, Eagle-Eyed readers may recognize the Beau-Rivage signature sepia tone decoration.
The New-2025 ACF-02 is built on its foundation and introduces subtle improvements in both design and mechanism. It is also much more affordable than its predecessor, making it an easy entry point for anyone looking to experience what WRK is.
WRK Timepiece ACF-02: Thoughtful Improvements
At first glance, ACF-02 shares a lot of DNA with ACF-01. The lightweight pebbles-like titanium case returns, but with slightly softer, more contoured lines that make it even more comfortable on the wrist. The blasted finish gives an industrial look with a mat that feels modern without exceeding the top. With a width of 38mm, length of 41mm and thickness of just 8.5mm, the case ensures a sophisticated wearable profile that can be adapted to a variety of wrist sizes. I have not yet been able to see the ACF-02 in real life yet, but I can already imagine a perfect fit, especially considering its slimness.

Three finishes available (from L – R) – Natural, Silver DLC and Black DLC
Regarding finishing, WRK offers the ACF-02 in three different variations. A natural bead blasted titanium finish, a silver DLC coating version for added contrast, and a stealth black DLC coating model for those who prefer dark aesthetics. Each holds the same smooth, screw-free case design that gives the watch a refined pebble-like feel.
WRK also extends the strap options on the ACF-02, mixing technical fabric and suede options. That being said, I still go for the orange hook and loop strap. That’s because they feel that it’s right for a blown-up titanium case. Please look at the above and tell me what’s wrong – I dare you!
Impressive movement and mechanics
The ACF-02’s power supply is an AMB-01/1 aperture developed in collaboration with Telos SA. Telos is no stranger to high-end watchmaking, but perhaps not the most well-known athletic partner. I put the company in the “If You Know, You Know” category, but Telos has worked with brands like Artya, Rebellion, Montblanc in the past. The ACF-02’s movement is built with efficiency and accuracy in mind, and features a bi-directional microrotor for automatic windings, while keeping the watch’s profile slim.
The main technical upgrade of the ACF-02 is its double barrel system. This setup helps avoid power supply and maintain better accuracy over time. It also extends the power reserve to a guaranteed 72 hours, but the total potential energy reaches 80-84 hours. The movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800VPH) to ensure smooth operation while providing reliability for daily wear. The base plate and bridge are made from grade 5 titanium with bead blast finish, giving another level of technical improvements to the already impressive packaging.
More accessible prices
One of the most notable changes in the ACF-02 is its price. The ACF-01 was an impressive debut, but its costs were placed in a more niche segment. Meanwhile, the ACF-02 is priced at CHF 18,924 (tax) which makes it easier for enthusiasts to get a WRK watch. It is a wise move to lower the barriers that enter the barriers without compromising the technical and design elements that set the brand apart in the first place.
In addition to its exclusiveness, the ACF-02 is available as a limited number of Suzuripto series, with only 12 available per configuration. For those who like something a little more unique, WRK also offers a bespoke personalization program, allowing buyers to adjust the material and color finish to their preferences. Let’s be honest: the ACF-02 isn’t “cheap” yet, but if you’re playing in this price range, it’s a fascinating suggestion.
Final Thoughts on the WRK Watch ACF-02
With the ACF-02, the WRK timepiece has not reinvented itself. Rather, it refines what has already worked. The case is refined, the movement is more robust, and there is a watch that feels like a logical evolution of the brand.
For those who have been intrigued by the ACF-01 but have discovered that the price is a bit steep, the ACF-02 is a powerful entry into the world of WRK. And for those who are already grateful for what the brand is doing? Another reason to keep an eye on what’s coming next. Find out more on the official WRK Timepiece website.
