Welcome to another episode of Fratello On Air! This week we’re talking about Japanese watches. This is a broad topic, so we approach it in many different ways. See how we tackle one of our favorite watch genres. For listeners, viewing content begins in approximately 17 minutes.
Japanese-made watches are highly valued in the hearts of both hosts. Mike has a large collection of works from the Land of the Rising Sun. Balazs has an elite collection of modern and vintage pieces. Still, we are going to discuss some very famous works and some of our favorites. This is not all. Otherwise, we would still be recording!

After some banter and the obligatory dad jokes, we slowly ease into hand gellenx control. Mike is dressed for the occasion. He wears a 1962 Seiko Chronos J13846. This watch has a two-piece screw-down caseback. It is generally considered the brand’s first waterproof watch. Balazs wears the Hi-Beat King Seiko 5625-7000, a beautiful watch that continues to inspire Grand Seiko models.

Our purpose in discussing Japanese watches is two-fold. Balazs mentions five of the most famous items from different brands. Mike heads off in a different direction to discuss some of his favorite models. Making only 5 pieces for each person was a difficult task.
