When you put the Titoni Seascoper on your wrist, it’s like hugging an old friend. I’m very interested in this brand, especially the Seascoper line. The first Seasscoper model I reviewed was the stainless steel version of this review watch. So when the two-tone version landed on my desk, it was kind of a full-circle moment. I usually don’t prefer two-tone divers over all-steel models, but with this new Seascoper 300 I’m going to change that. The new Titoni Seascope 300 is black and green with gold-coloured elements and is a very stylish version of the popular diver. It’s time to find out more!
For those unfamiliar with Titoni’s Seascope, this diving watch collection consists of two sub-lines. The first is the Seascoper 300, and today’s example review is one of its variations. This striking series of diving watches takes design inspiration from the previous generation Rolex Submariner. An affordable diver’s series with an impressive list of specs and a COSC-certified Sellita movement. The second subline is Seascoper 600. This professional diver’s watch has significantly improved specs. It is equipped with a helium escape valve and is powered by the brand’s in-house T10 movement. The Seascoper 600 also comes in several lightweight options with carbon cases.
Titoni has a knack for choosing colors.
Another key difference between the two divers is that the Seascope 600 is a step away from Seascope’s signature Submariner look. Even something as simple as putting numbers on a dial can make a big difference. I generally like the look of the 300 better, but I was blown away by the Seascoper 600 Retro that I reviewed earlier this year. This watch looked absolutely stunning with its blue dial, blue bezel, and vintage-inspired lume. It quickly became my favorite model in the Seascoper family.
However, I have to compliment Titoni’s designers. Because they certainly know how to choose the ideal color. As you know, the blue on the Seascoper 600 Retro is more than just blue. It’s a perfectly chosen blue color with a retro feel that pairs perfectly with beige glitter. The new Seascoper 300 in this review is further evidence of Titoni’s mastery of color.
This watch’s bezel features the same deep dark green ceramic bezel insert that defined the look of the full stainless steel model I reviewed. But what does dark green go with? You guessed it: gold!
Details of Seascoper 300 Ref. 83300 SYS-GN-248
So before we get into the details, let’s take a look at some basic specs. The watch features a 42mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 12.5mm, a lug-to-lug width of 52mm, and a water resistance of 300m. As you can see from the measurements, the case is large, so it may not suit people with small wrists. However, it fits perfectly on your wrist and is surprisingly easy to remove.
Perfect fit for a 18.5cm wrist. The case design is modeled after the previous Submariner’s super case with wide lugs. Especially the 42mm size gives a rich presence on the wrist.
This case combines a gold-colored crown and bezel. The bezel features the aforementioned dark green ceramic insert with gold-colored markings and white luminescent paint. Moving inside, we find a glossy black dial with gold-coloured applied markers, filled with white Super-LumiNova that glows a bright blue in the dark. There is also a white date disc and a black printed date window at 3 o’clock.
I like this solution because the white disk matches the applied time marker. These gold-tone hour markers are all filled with white lume, as are the three gold-coloured hands.
The gold Titoni logo and white wordmark are printed on the dial at 12 o’clock. Finally, the bottom half of the dial has three lines of text that we detailed in our original review of the Seascoper 300.
COSC certified Sellita SW200-1
Hidden behind the porthole caseback is a COSC-certified version of the famous Sellita SW200-1. This automatic caliber operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has 26 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. The COSC certified version of the SW200-1 is the highest movement grade and has an accuracy of +6 to -4 seconds per day. It’s common to see this movement used in watches in this price range, but it’s still rare to see a chronometer version. This shows that Titoni certainly doesn’t cut corners when it comes to quality.
You can feel it when you zoom in on the stainless steel bracelet. The Oyster style bracelet is my go-to choice over the black rubber strap or the available NATO style straps. This is a high quality pin collar bracelet that is very comfortable. The pin and collar structure works well, but it’s one thing I’d like to see optimized. As time goes on, more and more brands will change to screws and this great bracelet will become even better.
best in class bracelet
You can also adjust the size of your bracelet to perfection thanks to the tool-free micro-adjustment feature. This is achieved by pressing the large and beautifully decorated Titoni Seascoper logo on the clasp. The sturdy clasp feels solid and closes with a click every time. My opinion is that it could be a bit slimmer without sacrificing quality.
But these are all suggestions based on what is already one of the best bracelets in the industry in terms of price. It’s hard to fault them when you can get a bracelet like this for less than 2,000 euros. The clasp not only adds to the atmosphere, but also offers great practicality.
Wearing Titoni Seascope 300
When I put the Seascoper 300 on my wrist, I was reminded of what a great wearable watch it is, given its size and case shape. Despite its 42mm diameter and 52mm lug-to-lug length, this watch easily hides under a cuff. The finish of the case is also outstanding. The sides of the case are fully polished and the top is almost completely brushed. Only the inside of the lugs have polished chamfers for increased visual contrast.
Choose your favorite Titoni Seascope 300
The finish looks simple, but the gold and green colors of the bezel add plenty of visual sparkle. I love the combination of the glossy black dial, dark green bezel, and bright yellow gold accents. It gives the Seascope a suitably classy presence. The brand also sells a version with a two-tone bracelet, which will give it a boost in terms of flashiness. I like this version better. Because it’s the perfect balance between a capable tool watch and serious added style, giving it the right amount of luxury.
I also like that Titoni removed the orange accents found on the regular steel models. This is better balanced and looks better. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to like the new two-tone Seascoper 300 as much as I did. I usually love a good combination of steel and solid gold more than golden elements. The latter is because it imitates what it is not. However, here the gold accents add a style that I love.
This watch still has a strong Submariner-influenced look, but that’s still why I love it so much. This strange charm is difficult to explain. At €1,765, the new two-tone Seascoper 300 is a great option for those who like the look of the Submariner but don’t want to spend the €10,000 required to buy one. While the regular stainless steel model offers the rugged look of a tool watch, this two-tone version immediately won me over as the stylish option of choice. I see that Titoni continues to surprise me with his releases. I love that quality of old friends and can’t wait to see what happens next.
