Buffy Acacia
Red dials became a rapid trend a few years ago, and have not reached a peak in popularity in the green and blue ways, but have become a mainstay in the watch community, especially when it comes to limited edition releases and New Year’s drops on the moon. Still, if you’re looking for the colour of passion, courage and luck, there are some amazing red dial clocks out there. Here are the eight best things.
Casio G-Shock Casioak Ga2100-4a
When you need a real burst of colour, only the vibrant dial is not going to cut it. The Casio G-Shock Ga2100-4a has a very punchy wrist and is a big temperament that is hard to notice. If you’re looking for a lot of characters on your budget, you won’t get a better deal than this. Cassioak style has become a modern classicwith a brutal industrial look that seamlessly blends elements from the 70s, 80s and 90s. The resin case is lightweight and virtually indestructible, with many useful features including 31 time zones, timers, and five alarms that you’d expect from an Ana-Digi G-Shock. Price: USD 99
Orient Bambino Sun & Moon RA-AK0807R
It’s hard to find a truly affordable watch that’s as elegant as this, but the Orient Bambino has been a budget-friendly dress watch for years. There are several versions available on the decadent Bordeaux dial, but the Orient Bambino Saint & Moon Reference RA-AK0807R is heartbeat thanks to day/night indicators with a smiley medieval sun. Screws that support complications add an attractive layer to the layout, similar to the weekday subdial above it. This is an automatic watch with an Orient Caliber F6B24 with a 21,600Vph beat rate and a 40-hour power reserve. Price: 415 US$
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph
Returning as the official timekeeper for Formula 1, Tag Heuer has held back its legacy as Motorsport’s most important watch brand. Historically, its Formula 1 watch collection has been a means of high octane design in bold colours, and that remains true to today. The Tag Heuer Formula 1 chronograph may have a quartz movement, but thanks to the quality of the 43mm stainless steel case, its distinctive DLC-coated bezel and of course the sparkling red dial, it is just as luxurious and sporty as a mechanical watch. Also, considering its 200m water resistance, it is a capable diving watch and is extremely wearable thanks to its total thickness of 12.4mm. Price: 2,250 USD
Rad Captain Cook Automatic Bronze
The heyday of the Bronze incident has definitely passed, but their golden shades and abuse always have some appeal. One certainty between leaving it polished or forcing it to be covered with Verdigris is that it looks fantastic next to the red. Sunburst dial and ceramic bezel insertion Rad Captain Cook Automatic Bronze is a strong, deep red colour With glittering gold leaf details. It is not difficult to imagine the captain of the Spanish treasure galleon, who wears this during travel time in the 21st century. This diver, paired with a red and gold NATO strap, is also a 300m water resistant diver, inspired by 1950s design. Price: 2,850 USD
Red Cliff Cherry Fear Red
Cushioned Horror Brunswick has attracted all the attention, but when it returned to 2016, the first release of the British brand was the traditional round Red Cliff. The depth of the Cherry Red Dial is attractive and has syrup, and their clean time markers pop even more with tasteful readability. I argue that watches like this showcase even more fearful attention to detail and quality than Brunswick, as there is less distraction to it. The round bezel polish is beautiful, with the date display having a red background that melts perfectly with the color of the dial. Equipped with an automatic La Joux-Perret G100 with a 68-hour power reserve, it is 150m resistant and is a very versatile watch that can be dressed up, remain casual or sporty. Price: 3,300 USD (exc.vat), available from The Time+Tide Shop
Grand Seiko SBGH345 MT IWATE RED
Much has been written about Grand Seiko’s Studio Shizukuuchi and its idyllic forest location. It’s no wonder that nature-inspired dials were created there. The SBGH345 may not be the craziest red dial Grand Seico has ever made, but the subtle ripples of the sunburst finish make it such an incredible, unique refinement. This scar color was directly contacted by the sun’s morning rays falling into Mt. Iwate, but the 44GS case from the heritage collection comes from Grand Seiko’s 1967 release, which solidified the brand’s design language. This model features a high-beat caliber 9S85 with smooth 5Hz sweep in seconds, a 55-hour power reserve, and normal usage accuracy of less than 8/-1 second per day. Price: 7,000 US$
Zenith Defy Revival A3691
Zenith is one of the few brands that understand the importance of accurate vintage reissues, despite some quirks that may not appeal to a wide audience. For those who love strange and wonderful things, it’s a habit of making watches. Zenith handles Revival A3691 It was also a rare example of a watch that actually had a red gradient dial when it first released in 1971, embodying the bold spirit of a decade. The time markers are definitely vintage, and the ladder bracelet lacking center links is crazy enough to deflect you from how wild the faceted case and bezel are. Price: 7,200 US$
Omega Speedmaster ’57
meanwhile Omega Speedmaster ’57 Burgundy Dial Can be counted either red or purple. It’s almost as intoxicating as the French wine it is named for. Such modern colors should look strange on watches that are about to evoke the late 1950s, but it works perfectly with the mix of sportiness and refinement of the case and bracelet. The twin register layout of the subdial shares time and minutes of time sharing the leaves, shares symmetrical date window space at 6 o’clock, and the manually scratched caliber 9906 looks spectacular from the sapphire display case back. Price: USD 9,500
Time+Tide Timeless Pick: Cartier Santos-Dumont Rewind
Cartier may be known for its eccentric shape, but its release is extremely rare that its release is purely novel. If you don’t notice it at first glance, take a look at the lovingly made Roman numerals of Santos Damon’s rewinded Roman numerals. Yes, it’s a retreating watch. If you have a spare $38,400 to drop on a watch like this, you probably have a sense of humor. Symbodied, hand receding can link to the deaging effects of laughter, but even if the concept is easy, its execution is completely serious. The limited edition of 200 pieces is made from platinum, and the carnelian dial is particularly strong. The case is 31.4mm wide and 7.3mm thick and 43.5mm long, with a caliber 230 MC of Piaget’s modified 430p.
