When Dennison revealed the ALD series in late 2024, we were initially skeptical. The ’70s-inspired minimalist watches with Quartz’s movement seemed to take advantage of the burgeoning trends of vintage pieces of similar style. But in reality, the moderately sized Dennison Ald convinced us all to the team. Stone and wooden dials at attractive prices make for an interesting suggestion. Currently there is a second model, which is similar themes, but the watch displays two time zones. ALD’s dual time is here and should be the winner.
If I had the opportunity to try on the original Dennison Aldo, all my concerns would have been cooperated. The watch fits beautifully and looks expensive, but is very affordable. Plus, for relatively boring traditionalists like me, they offer a risk-free opportunity to try something a little funky. For these watches, I feel that the quartz movement is also appropriate. Keep costs down and most importantly check thickness. As you can see, ALD’s dual-time approach takes the two moves as good as one. Above all, all the traits I like about the original model are undamaged.
Dennison Aldo Dual Time
The latest Dennison is a throwback to twin display watches from the 70s. A visit to my colleague Dern’s 2023 article highlights some of the best examples of these funky 2-timers. Many of these watches utilized small hand-winded calibers, but the new ALD dual-time features the Swiss Ronda Quartz movement. But, like the vintage original, the modern piece has a timed crown on either side of the case.
Each watch has a 37mm x 35.6mm case and a slim thickness of 6.1mm. Dennison doesn’t list a water resistance rating, but like the single-time only edition, the splash proof number was expected. Again, flat sapphire crystal and solid snap-on cases are part of the package. Regarding case materials, polished stainless steel and gold PVD coated stainless steel are available in each dial variant.

Various dial options
ALD Dual Time is available in several dial materials. However, what’s interesting compared to the original 2024 release is that there are two different layouts. Aventurine, Tiger Eye, Malachite, and Lapis Lazuli offer circular sunburst displays that match the second color. Next, bloodstone and lapis lazuli or tiger eyes and black marble are available, each material consisting of half the dial. Naturally, the case and mechanism are the same, but the two styles look unique. Perhaps in response to some complaints about the cheap feel of the original strap, Dennison added an Epsom Calfskin strap with a pin buckle on each model.
Looks great on the wrist
With arrows and 24-hour indicators, the GMT watch has become a regular product from most brands. This makes ALD dual time a bit more clear on recent twin displays. But I firmly believe it looks great and I am pleased with the different styles. We’re looking forward to trying these out quickly and getting the feel of the size, but the photos give us confidence in the comfortable, thin fit.
Affordable prices remain
Thankfully, the number of double moves is not equal to twice the price! The price of ALD’s dual-time is 780 euros for the entire collection. This is an increase of less than 200 euros over the single-time model, which is hitting me as a fair upcharge. Of the options available, I enjoy the model as the sunburst subdial provides additional details. However, I am sure the twin material dial will be directly impressed. Anyway, this is a great release and I hope it will be popular. Let us know what you think about the latest Dennison watches. Visit the brand’s website to see all the variations.
