Last year, Czapek introduced its new Promenade collection. The design combines influences from the brand Quai des Bergues and the Antarctique line. Aside from the hollowed lug and mid-case, the watch looks very classic. However, the distinctive dial design is the real star of the Promenade Collection. The same can be said for the newly introduced Promenade Plissé.
At Fratello, I’m a huge fan of Czapek’s promenade. Last December we introduced the limited edition version of the Promenade’s clarity Viridian Green. The watch has a clear, sloped green dial that lets you see the movement of Czapek’s SXH7 micro rotor. In Promenade Plissé, you can only see movement through the display case. Luckily, the stamped dial with its clear texture is truly worth it. Let’s take a look right away.
Czapek Promenade Plissé
Like other watches in the Promenade collection, the Plissé has a 38mm stainless steel case. That measurement includes subtle crown guards on the sides. The thickness including dome-shaped sapphire crystal is just under 11mm. Finally, the lug is only 42mm from tip to tip. This means that the promenade fits very well with various wrist sizes. You can get it with either a nubuck leather strap or a stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet.
Then you reach the dial, the Texture Please (meaning “pleats”) star of today’s show. It is made of brass and is then stamped to give a subtle folded pattern. Pearl white, ivory and pink colors are attributed to galvanic treatments. The pleisse texture certainly reminds me of the pleats of some clothing, but in the ivory version, especially the ivory version, it reminds me of the swelling dune landscape. The textures are well embraced by the Azurage-Finished subsecond dial. Metalem, a partner at Czapek, helped develop this new dial texture. The even application of diamond cut time markers was particularly difficult to achieve.

Internal platinum micro rotor
The new Czapek Promenade Plissé is powered by the company’s SXH5.1 movement. This is an automatic caliber with a platinum micro rotor. It operates at a frequency of 28,800VPH, features 26 gems and holds a power reserve of 60 hours. A peer into the sapphire window on the caseback shows a sandblasted black bridge, diagonal and hand-made charm fur. The construction of the promenade will bring watch resistance to 50 meters.
First impression
I haven’t seen the new Czapek Promenade Plissé in person yet, so I can only imagine how it reflects the light when I move my wrist. However, I think it’s a shiny beauty on the wrist, as there are elegant waves on the dial. My favorite is the ivory version, as it reminds me of a delicate Zen sand garden. Plus, I think I’d opt for a Milanese bracelet, as the promenade feels a little less formal.
The Czapek Promenade Plissé will be on sale today at CHF 16,000 (excluding VAT). As mentioned before, the dial is available in ivory, pearl white and pink. Only 18 of each dial color were made, and will be available for streaming in the first quarter of 2026.
