Borna Boschunjak
The most likely way someone is on the clock is through family connections. In my case, both of my parents played a major role in my ultimate fanaticism. I mostly talked about my watch with my dad, but kept my first watch untouched, gave it a few years later, and handed me the old Anna Digi Casio I wore when I was in elementary school. Just like I’m trying, I still can’t figure out what that (now lost) watch reference is. Our mother is the main reason why we all are, and what is a better way to show gratitude to someone than to give them a watch? Oh, there are other ways to do it, do I listen to you say? Well, we see nerds don’t know much better.
For Gathering Gals – Case in Time x Time+tide d’onut watch case
A good watch collector knows how to take care of a watch. Usually this is done by wooden boxes or olive drab watch rolls, but watch storage can be much more colorful than that. We partnered with Cased and did our best to show you how colorful it is with the D’Ohnut Watch Case Trio. Whether you go to classic chocolate, bright blueberries or pink strawberries, they have no problem storing your most precious pieces. However, if you are viewing it with the actual Doughtnuts, keep in mind which one you are chewing on. Ask me how I know. Price: $49, £25, USD 30. Available from T+T Shop Online and T+T London and Melbourne Studios.
For Thrifty Mamma – Casio LF20W
The truth is said, you can put entry-level casio on this list, and I don’t think you’ll receive any complaints. However, the reason we chose the LF20W is because there is a general agreement in the T+T office that we can continue to offer the bestselling trends of the venerable F-91W. At a similar rate, this reimagining of the AE-20W Twin Graph experienced a common ploy with Hot Casio. There, there’s a huge markup in the secondary market, selling out everywhere for the first few months after its release. Thankfully, that hype is dead, so you can easily get this resin cutie from Time+Tide Shop. Price: $99.95
For Ana-Digi Amma – G-Shock GMS110
The Digital G-Shock is a major part of the mass market appeal, but I think there is an option for Ana-Digi, which many people have a bit of a sleepy sleep. The new GMS110 is a great example. The usual complaint is that they are too big and too thick, but in the 42mm x 13mm case, this metal G-shock is certainly easy to manage. The host with its normal impact and water resistant features is still here, with Casio’s own Neo Bright Room in hand. Price: $549 from Time+Tide Shop
For Mini Mamas – Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Auto 34mm
Watches (and their accompanying advertisements) are increasingly resistant to gender binaries, but for sporty watches that incorporate some traditionally feminine clues, we won’t look any further than the performers of the Hamilton Jazzmaster. It’s a watch that shrinks, pink and pink shrinks, seeking subtle rosé dials that look like you’re at home with new Lange or Pateks, and retains the H-10 movement with an 80-hour power reserve. The 34mm size is not the smallest watch, but it is suitable for its style and 100 meters of water resistance. Price: $1,850 from Time+Tide Shop
For a Vintage Mother – Nivada Glenchen F77 Lapis Lazuli
For mothers who like to jump on trends, doing so unexpectedly might be the answer to the question of Nivada Grenchen’s f77 integrated bracelet. I think the outstanding model is the number of Lapis drives, as the diameter 37mm is suitable for most wrist sizes. Naturally, each dial is unique thanks to the stone texture, and the soft features normally found in other watches of this type become soft due to the subtle appearance. Price: $2,390 from Time+Tide Shop
For Adventure Lady Ladies – Doxa Sub 200t
Ask watch enthusiasts and you will find that the collection is not complete without divers. Well, I don’t really believe it, so it’s not true, but it’s true that dive watches have become a daily staple for many. The new Sub 200T adopts the brand’s instantly recognizable design, and connects it to a much more wearable case, especially for small people like me. It also essentially has no lugs and is impressively thin with a diameter of 39mm, lug-to-lug 41.5mm and height of 10.7mm. Price: $2,550 (rubber), $2,590 (steel bracelet) from Time+Tide Shop
For the Dressy Dam – Celica Parade ref. 1174
Micro-branded dresses are very rarely committed to descriptions and often retain the sensibility of some form of casual outfit. It’s a wise choice, but it leads to design compromises. You can expect the same from Serica, a brand popularized by COSC-certified vintage style GMT and tool watches, but Parade Ref. 1174 shows that it could not be far from the truth. With the case width at 35mm and height only 8.3mm, the shape of the Begnoir is emphasized by the gorgeous double stepping geometry. We’re all saying that, but that’s yet another example of a genderless watch that allows you to see the house in almost any outfit, from denim overalls to black tie. Price: $2,690 from Time+Tide Shop
For a gorgeous old lady – Christopher Word C1 Moon Phase 37mm
Affordable monthly complications are often half-knit and act as day/night indicators many times. But that’s not Christopher Ward’s trick. In fact, they choose to create C1 MoonPhase all about complications, and can take up the entire top half of the dial, but the rest is a beautiful blue aventurine. By completely removing the branding from the dial, you can see that CW is confident in their design. Especially because it was nominated for GPHG. Price: $3,690, available in-store from T+T London and Melbourne studios
For the Majestic Patriarch – Bvlgari Serpenti x tadao ando
Previous proposals spanned a wide price spectrum, but for those who feel like dealing with moms, there is only one option in my eyes. Bvlgari Serpenti is the most elegant dress watch, and the third of the brand worked with Tada to produce this spectacular Aventrin stone and two-tone tube gas count. Price: CHF 15,700
