Let’s be honest: Most of us wear dress watches only when the date night rolls. So with that in mind, we are now working with Dennison, the most exciting dress watch brand on the market, to let you know that we are ready for those romantic opportunities. Time+Tide x Dennison DateNight represents many of the firsts of the brand, which has been around since the 19th century, but has only started a new life last year.

There is a lot to dig into here destination this watch’s Goldilocks dimensions, with a lot of details that help elevate it above a standard dress watch offering, whether it be in the hand-laid Australian mother-of-pearl dial, the Molequin suede strap, or the watch’s original story… We have followed Dennison’s journey from the very beginning here at Time+Tide, and so it only felt right that we would collaborate with them on this project, with special input from the brand’s owner, Toby Sutton, and legendary watch designer Emmanuel Gaitt: The Man Off Ardmars Piguet Royal Oak and Rolex Celini (among many others) are Rolex Celini (among many others), the man who helped Dennison get back from death.
As we will see in the future, Andrew, Toby and Emmanuel have worked closely with the project to show how the concept was put together. The watch combines how Time+Tide evolved into a new London home as a company with elements of Australian roots, and New York’s glamour Flash hints at plans for the future. Don’t struggle any more, watch this new collaboration and incorporate all the little details worthy of the first dress watch you’ve ever made.
Dial
This is where all the action on this watch is. Running this dial is unparalleled, as both the first Mother of Pearl and the first Marquetry dial Dennison have done it before. Australian mother-of-pearls are cut and placed by hand on the dial, making each dial completely unique and offering a singular, yet equally impressive experience for everyone who owns one. The dial is laid out in this parquet design, making the most of the animation possible in the most elegant format possible. This means that when you move this watch in the light, it catches shades of blue, purple and green throughout the dial, disappearing just as quickly as possible.
Stone dials are their own art form, and the art form that has become the main light that Dennison has access to. However, adding Marquetry’s complex process will immediately direct this style towards something more complex and appealing. By placing these rectangular segments of semiprecious stones in this repetitive pattern, we all confuse the natural textures we all know and love, and in doing so we create something more unique. Here we have created what Time + Tide was established, turning the natural beauty of this natural and beautiful material downwards.
As we did after Dennison’s renewal, we didn’t want to confuse the elegance of this dial, so only the Dennison logo is printed on the crystal in the lower right corner, floating above the exquisite mop. He also remembered the origins of the Dennison brand and kept the phone the same with the lancet hand, which helps bring historical significance to the watch.
case
We have been extremely impressed with the widespread appeal of the Dennison case since the launch of the Dennison case, and we knew we could not touch on it here. The round square shape measuring 37mm x 33.5mm is luscious by both men and women who came to our Discovery Studio, so we knew that this watch would be the perfect dating night companion no matter who we first reached. The balance of round squares is equally flattering on all kinds of wrists. If the thickness is only 6.05mm, it is guaranteed to match the elegance of the outfit you dare to throw at.
However, this watch has Easter eggs. Turning the surveillance over reveals a case engraved with depictions of the front entrance of London Discovery Studios. This line drawing represents the birthplace of the idea of this watch that Andrew and Emmanuel first met, and is chosen as it was available to purchase one forever after the 24-hour online sales window ended. (Of course, you can also try to buy it directly from Melbourne Discovery Studios.
strap
A feature I’ve always liked about Dennison’s design is how the straps seamlessly integrate into the case. The straps hidden under the smooth, polished bezel seem to appear from anywhere, not confusing the clean lines sketched by Gueit. This article has sounded like we’ve only heard of praise from the Dennison ALD collection since its launch, but we haven’t blinded its weaknesses. For this reason we contacted a friend of Molekin and asked to join us in this collaboration and to offer a supple suede strap to make this watch truly valuable. And that’s exactly what I got with this dark gray suede number, with a slightly lighter grey stitching to keep the straps from pulling your attention off the dial.
Molekin suede is considered the best in the industry, but we didn’t want to stop there. That’s why we also offer an additional white leather strap that gives this watch a whole new, vibrant look. Both of these straps come with classic Dennison buckles that reflect the shape of the curved square case. Both can be easily replaced thanks to the attached quick release spring bar.
Movement
This watch features a Swiss Ronda Quartz movement. This is the perfect accompaniment for clocks that can only be used on date nights, as they continue to take place on time and on time without intervention for up to six years. It also means it’s very slim: Again, it’s just 6.05mm crystal from the caseback. This watch does not have a hand for running seconds. This not only means it’s not clear that it’s a quartz watch, but it also means that it keeps the dial very clean and classically aligns with the aesthetics of a dress watch. To change the time, the crown is embedded in the case. It’s almost flashed. You need to pull these case lines from underneath to keep them as clean as possible.
verdict
I have been lyrically lyrical about this clock at this point, so I would like to give the last words to the two people closest to its origins.
“The project put together one of our own, up-and-coming brands, world-renowned designers, and in the most natural way possible,” said Andrew Mcutchen, founder of Time+Tide. “The result is a clock that enters dangerously unknown territory for us. Date night. Romance. Intense beauty. Emmanuel navigates our young designer Pietro through this perfect storm and arrives at a rainbow that crosses the dial. It is clear. It is gorgeous.
“The partnership with Time+Tide is a truly exciting new chapter for Dennison and is built on the amazing relationships we already have with Time+Tide,” said Toby Sutton, founder of the revived Dennison brand. “Data Night takes our heritage in a fresh direction. It celebrates the past while exploring new materials and techniques.”
