Tom Austin Omega has unveiled a new pair of turquoise fume-covered Aqua Terra. This time I finished with a black ceramic bezel with a brush. Two sizes are available, either 38mm or 41mm, both utilizing meta-certified coaxial motion. These new turquoise aqua terra are available in a black rubber strap with a fabric effect that combines turquoise stitching.
Omega subtly adds new subcategories to the Seamaster Aqua Terra lineup, incorporating brushed ceramic bezels into standard Aqua Terra ranges from high-end models such as the 2023 World Timer. Based on the surprise release received around Christmas last year on Aqua Terra Range’s first turquoise fume dial, the brand expanded the collection with a subtle refresh.

The case design matches the rest of the collection. This time, we stick to the usual format of 38mm and 41mm diameters and are built around a simple, stylish aqua terra case design that we all know and love. The twisted grey rug is still present in nature and is beautifully polished to give its premium look.
With a 38mm model with a thickness of 12.36mm and a 41mm model with a thickness of 13.26mm, both models are comfortable for most wrist sizes, offering a good variation for those who prefer something a little larger or more subtle. Both models are naturally water resistant to 150 meters and feature screw-down crowns and sapphire crystal. Both have anti-reflective coatings.
The gorgeous dial starts with a bright fresh turquoise in the center and disappears into a much darker area towards the edge. This contrasts with the bright turquoise Minute Track, interrupted by a gray PVD treatment filled with white Super Luminova and a diamond blue index. The same treatment is also characteristic of the hands. This dark dial furniture matches the applied PVD coated Omega logo and the dark date window at 6 o’clock.
The dial is framing black ceramic bezel. This has not been added to the Aqua Terra Range, as already featured in some high-end models. But it’s a great addition to giving the watch a premium look, and it’s great to see it filtering into more entry-level pieces. What’s more, it’s extremely scratch resistant and a great advantage over the standard model, considering that the polished bezel is very easy to scratch.
Overall, this new dark and moody look brightens up in the vibrant center of its stunning fume dial, a refreshing take on the Aqua Terra range. The dark bezel, paired with dark bezels and dark dial furniture, are in great contrast and appear to be well executed in both sizes.
Both pieces feature the 38mm model Omega’s coaxial master chronometer caliber 8800 and the 41mm model caliber 8900. Both moves offer similar performance, with the smaller model having a slightly lower 55-hour power reserve, while the larger model having a 60-hour performance. Both It is certified meta The use of silicon balance springs provides magnetic properties up to 15,000 Gauss. Of course, as would be expected for Omega, both movements are luxuriously finished in an industrial way, featuring arabesque blackened screws with rhodium-plated rotors and Geneva waves.
Both watches are available with rubber straps and have small steel inserts on each end, placed between the lugs to provide contrast. Both are finished with vibrant turquoise stitching to complete the look. However, the rubber straps do not have any fine adjustments, but feature adjustments via a more traditional folding grip fastener. Interestingly, both 38mm and 41mm are listed only on this rubber strap website. It is still unclear whether Omega will also sell this model as a steel bracelet.
Close thoughts
Last year’s first turquoise doied Aqua Terra was released in full in time for the Southern Hemisphere summer. Now Omega has given me something to the edge of the summer tail in the Northern Hemisphere (or is it giving me a little more progressive notice this year?) and it seems like a ceramic bezel, but it adds a small change, but it adds earth steer, but resistance.
