When people mention Pepsi in the world of watches, they refer to the red and blue colors of GMT or dive bezels. The Rolex GMT Master was the first watch with such a bezel, but Seiko made numerous watches with red and blue bezels. At the turn of the amazing event, Seiko launched two new watches in an official collaboration with Pepsi. The Seiko 5 Sports SRPL99 is a 38mm diving watch with a Pepsi Dive bezel, and the Seiko 5 Sports SSK047 is a 42.5mm GMT watch with a Pepsi bezel. Both boast Pepsi’s name on the dial and caseback, and come in a Pepsikan-inspired box, limited to 7,000 units.
In 2023, G-Shock teamed up with Coca-Cola to launch two watches. You can also find quite a few swatch watches with Coca-Cola designs. However, as far as we know, there was no official collaboration between the major watch brands and Pepsi.

Seiko 6139 Pogue

Seiko SKX009 “Pepsi”
The first watch with Seiko’s red and blue bezels could have been a 1969 6139 “Pogue” chronograph. You can read more about it in the Mike article. Another classic in Seiko’s collection with Pepsi bezel is the SKX009. For many people like Thomas, the SKX009 was their first mechanical watch. Plus, there are plenty of older and newer Seiko watches with Pepsi bezels. But again, none of them were officially made in cooperation with Pepsi. Let’s take a quick look at these new, officially licensed Pepsi watches.
Seiko 5 Sports SRPL99 – ’90s Pepsi Style
Start with a smaller 38mm stainless steel SRPL99. This version is inspired by 90’s Pepsi cans. Therefore, the watch has a silver sunburst dial in a classic SKX style case. Other design adjustments include blue indexes, hand and, of course, the 6 o’clock 90s Pepsi logo. One-way Pepsi Dive bezel surrounding the dial. The first important 20 minutes are red and the rest are blue.

Seiko’s automatic 4R36 movement is engraved on the inside. This is the same move used in a recent re-edit of the “Gene Kranz” 6119-8460 Sports Diver. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600VPH, features 24 gems and holds a power reserve of 41 hours. It’s all pretty standard, but its magnetoresistance and pepsianized semi-transparent caseback are a great bonus. The Seiko 5 Sports SRPL99 is mounted on a stainless steel oyster style bracelet and is 100 meters resistant. The cost is 380 euros and is limited to 7,000 units.
Seiko 5 Sports SSK047—Zero Sugar Pepsi Style
Next is the Seiko 5 Sports SSK047, with a slightly larger 42.5mm SKX style case. This time, the design is inspired by Pepsi’s current line of zero sugar options. Therefore, the case has a hard black coating and the dial is also black. Like the previous version, the index is blue, but here only the seconds hand is blue. The hour and minute hands are silver, while the fourth GMT hands are bright red. That’s why there’s a 24-hour insert on a two-way bezel, of course half is red and the other is blue.
The internal movement is Seiko’s 4R34 automatic caller GMT caliberalso available in the rest of the current SKX style GMT models. It operates at a frequency of 21,600VPH, holds a power reserve of 41 hours and features 24 gems. Like the 4R36, it is co-magnetic and hidden behind a pepsianized, translucent case. Seiko 5 Sports SSK047 is now available in the black silicone from the Pepsi brand It is water resistant to strap and 100 meters. The cost is 540 euros and is limited to 7,000 units.

Get as much as you can
As mentioned, not many people were hoping for this release from Seiko and Pepsi. But that’s a pleasant surprise and definitely attracts a lot of fans. Each model has 7,000 pieces, which sounds like a lot, but in Seiko’s production numbers, it’s actually not that many. Especially considering that these watches are available worldwide. Therefore, if you are interested, please contact your local Seiko dealer as soon as possible.
