Elliott Brown Block Sworth Heritage Diver Chromatic Collection

Elliot Brown, a Tom Austin British brand, will be unveiling a limited edition summer dive watch range with the colorful Brocksworth Heritage Diver chromatic collection. Consisting of four watches, including colorful bezel accents and an inner chapter ring, this collection infuses playful hints into what a serious tool watch is. Inspired by summer motifs such as Candy Floss, Promenade Deck Chairs and Sandcastles, the Chromatic Collection combines the look of a vintage diver with unexpected colorways.

British brand Elliot Brown is currently carving out its own niche in British watchmaking, combining key features such as real-world robustness, rugged styling and affordable vintage talent. They openly describe the use of destructive testing on far more watches than most brands, proving that their watches can withstand the abuse they claim, and can withstand them all at attractive price levels. To keep pace with recent summer trends, Elliot Brown has launched a new colorful four-piece collection based on Bloxworth Heritage Diver: The Chromatic Collection.

Inspired by classic diving watches from the 1950s and 1960s, the Bloxworth Heritage Diver takes a vintage approach to its aesthetic, tweaking it with a modern touch. At 40mm diameter, the marine grade stainless steel case is modernly sized, combined with a 4 o’clock triple seal screw crown and a dome-shaped reflective sapphire crystal to provide the watch with 200 meters of water resistance ready for the ocean. For the expected diving watch, it may sound like a record breaker, but keep in mind that it is 100% tested at this level. Most people don’t dive far less than about 40 meters anyway, so that’s enough. Another modern detail is a one-way timing bezel featuring different scratch-resistant ceramic inserts in each of the four models.

The Chromatic Collection comes in four colorways, spread across gray, navy blue, bold blue and vibrant orange dials. Each dial features contrasting chapter rings, minute track extensions, each with pink, pale blue, yellow and gray. All dials feature embossed wave motifs on the surface and are accented by application time markers with classic 12, 3, 6 and 9 in Arabic numbers. Bloxworth is a time-only work, so there is no nasty date window here. The clean dial is organized with a simple minute track, a 12 o’clock logo and a water resistance rating displayed below.

The contrasting colors throughout the chapter ring are extended to a 120-click black ceramic bezel, with the numbers and markers all matching the fun colored dial accents. This is a fun way to make your color splash look classic. This is toned down with arrow hands filled with neutral super laminova.

With such watches, you might expect an ETA or Sellita-based automatic movement to sit inside. However, unusually, Elliot Brown chooses the Swiss Ronda 713 quartz movement for Brooksworth divers to be of high quality. And what do you know? For me, it’s definitely okay. It’s a time-only watch and is advertised as being very reliable and reliable, so why can’t it become quartz? Quartz offers unparalleled accuracy and cost benefits, combined with the EB’s in-case movement shock prevention system, it is reliable and does not need to be set up unless you change the battery. There is clearly space in the market for more quartz watches. And if you’re definitely using a low-level automatic movement to increase your prices, why not choose quartz to keep things affordable?

Each Bloxworth Heritage Diver in the Chromatic Collection comes with a dialmatch textured rubber strap, finished with a newly refined laser-equipped deployment clasp. Apparently the spring bars don’t break either, but after flying across the room while changing the straps, you can’t promise that they won’t be resolved. The orange watch is the most widely available, with 100 available. However, the pink/gray, blue/yellow, and navy/sky blue variations are limited to 50, so if you have a color you like, it’s best to go quickly.
