The combination of yellow gold and green beyond platinum creation with an Ice-Blue dial is the ultimate expression of Rolex Luxury. The luscious and charming yellow gold dates back to ancient civilizations, while the green is the brand’s signature colour, often used in a festive way, bringing Rolex enthusiasts to high vigilance. Mix the materials with colours and use them on the brand’s famous chronograph, and things start to get hot. I can imagine my excitement when I was able to make the new yellow gold Daytona practical with a green dial. The charisma of the watch’s rockstar is certainly exciting, and perhaps makes you think of the nickname its predecessor has gained. But don’t call this Daytona “John Mayer II.” That’s not justice. It may also be in the way of enjoying this gorgeous creation.
Rolex and the nickname… Some people have forged into the watch dictionary, but others feel they shouldn’t be there. “Pepsi” is fine, and so is “Cola” – is it “Batgirl” and “John Mayer”? When you ask me, the first is too exaggerated and the second is linked to the guy with the AP with his name – come! Mea Culpa is appropriate here. Because sometimes I try to see if my invention sips stick. Anyway, I won’t call Daytona 116508-0013 “John Mayer.” As a result, the successor to that watch, Reference 126508-0008, is not called “John Mayer II.” Instead, focus on the new Yellow Gold Daytona with a green dial and updated features.
New yellow gold Rolex Daytona with green dial: It hits chords
The 2025 Green Dial Daytona in yellow gold is chorded, but I will refrain from naming my pet. Also, get closer to the watch as a watch. While that may seem obvious, Daytona is something special. If you want to know exactly what I mean, my article, “The Rolex Daytona is no longer a clock” enlightens you.
The 2025 Daytona lineup is strong and extremely diverse. The yellow gold green dial reference 126508-0008 is a luxurious iteration at a price of 48,800 euros. This is a sophisticated evolution of the 116508-0013, meaning that the watch is slimmer and has a revamped dial. The latter features slimmer application indexes, hands and tracks. The most important difference between this new Daytona and its predecessor is the gold subdial, not the gold subdial that contrasts with the different green shades of the main dial.
Subdials make a big difference
When comparing the old Green Daytona side by side, two things attack me the most. Firstly, the old “Rolex Green” colour and its sunburst finish look much more severe than the shade and finish of the new one and looks like your face. Also, using red inside the green counter to provide a tone-on-tone design and contrast was not so subtle. The new reference 126508-0008 features a dial indicating a green tone down shade. It’s light and has little glow, so instead of using matching subdials again, Rolex chose to make them in the colour of the case, bezel and bracelet. And what do you know? These gold stuff really tie the rooms together – sorry, clocks – together.
Does this green Daytona look familiar?
Here, when I say I have first glimpse into the new green and gold Daytona and then come up with a custom job, I step on dangerous ground here. Remember the artist Honey Green Rolex Daytona Modo, with its deep green bakelite bezel, golden subdials, and a fully brushed yellow gold case and bracelet? Well, now you do. Sink it and then take a look at reference 126508-0008 again. What do you think? Rolex does not match the gold bracelets with the bezels of the same material and brushed all-over finish, but the dials have something in common.
Finish and warm up
My favorite Daytona newcomer is the Yellow Gold Daytona with an Oysterflex bracelet with a turquoise dial, Reference 126518LN. Yes, it is its boundary prejudiced creature. If you’re wondering why I haven’t written about that watch, this green creature, Jorg, is even more crazy about the turquoise dial Daytona than I do, and he’s compiling an article about it. Yellow Gold Daytona with a green dial – using a nickname on a watch will result in smoother writing and must be acknowledged. I’m slowly warming up.
In this article, what do you think about the 2025 Daytona lineup and the green dial version? Does the new reference 126508-0008 surpass its predecessor? Please let me know in the comments.
