It’s been over a month since the 2025 watch and wonder, but the dust really settled down from that man week. When you’re on the ground in Geneva, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the amount and quality of the release. All brands are joking with your attention with big landmark releases. But sometimes the best watch from the fair is not a headline act. It’s a subtle, modest release that appears to have been tamed on paper, but it actually represents the most interesting, most collectible watch in the long run.
Suitable Case: New Panerai Luminor MarinaTitanio Ref. PAM03325. Luminor Perpetual Calendar GMT Platinumtech Ref. Compare with more complex releases in Geneva, such as. PAM01575 or Jupiter’s planetary clock, this titanium-mediated illuminator is relatively tame. There are no major complications. I’ve also seen titanium brightness before. But this is where you need to read its specs in more detail to understand why this is the best everyday wearer in the Luminor collection.
First of all, the Marina Titanio of this illuminator benefits from the same upgrade as the steel lighting fixture released in Geneva, a water-resistant boost of 300 meters to 500, and a new P.980 caliber that is much slimmer than the p.9010 while taking away the same 72-hour power reserve. Thinner, lighter, more water resistant – it’s pretty hard to complain about it. However, the Marina Titanio model, made from titanium, helps to further reduce weight, making this 44mm wide watch even more familiar.
Of course, those familiar with the history of Italian brands may know that Panerai, who used titanium in the watch incident in the 1980s, was the pioneer. However, the lighter feels very 2020s, featuring a pleasant mix of sophisticated brushed surfaces, complemented by a moody sunburst green dial and a green scamotiato (suede) calf leather strap. Then Panerai hugs the horse before he crosses his arms with a leather strap and a diving watch. The watch comes with an additional green rubber strap, and both straps have a quick change system.
Green dials have been trending in recent years and are trending without any signs of slowing down. I think the green is also really suitable for lighting fixtures. So, that’s why I’ve always been a fan of luminor marina verde smeraldo e-steel ref. PAM01356. But if the green tint of that watch is bright and lush emerald, the luminor Marina Titanio is a more muted duskier green, which makes it a bit dressy. Just like the suede strap, it’s a little more versatile.
In short, it is a normal production model that is lighter on the wrist, thinner, with better specifications. This means you can pick it up anywhere in the world. It’s also just a $1,500 premium over the $14,800 steel sibling, which is nothing but less premium than many brands charging steel titanium models. Honestly, I think Luminor Marina Chitanio currently represents a garbage pick in the luminor range. While not as flashy as the Platinum permanent calendar, I am sure it will be a very exciting watch for many Paneritis.
Curve Ball
However, if lightness is the ultimate goal, Panerai has released a watch and a very handsome ceramic illuminator with Wonders 2025. PAM01574 was created to mark Panerai’s return as the official timekeeper of Salone Del Mobile, better known as Milan Design Week. Lighting devices may be essentially tool watches, but this partnership makes sense as they are actually a piece of design.
The combination of the matte black ceramic case (including ceramic crown and crown protection device) and the dark blue sunburst dial gives the appearance of the umbral umbral, dapper. And while it’s “only” 300m water resistance, we also speculate on the complexity of the GMT and the power reserve indicator on the dial-side. It’s even lighter, dressy, more complicated, but for $25,100 you’ll pay that privilege…
