Watches and Wonders 2025 had many outstanding releases, but one watch continues to appear in my memory. Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11 was a metal delight. What’s more, the reason for the watch is focused on actual meaningful stories.
Seeing businesses find reasons to actually celebrate almost every opportunity. Some are substantial, while others seem trivial. Arnold & Son’s Constant Force Tourbillon 11 feels like a credible reason to be excited and reliable due to the historic relationship between John Arnold and Abraham Lewis Breguet. Both men sent their sons in exchange to train with the other fathers. As the story progressed, Arnold was a admirer of Breguet’s simple design. Meanwhile, Breguet enjoyed Arnold’s ability to produce highly accurate marine chronometers for mass production. Today’s watch commemorates the friendship between the two.
Arnold & Son Constant Force Tour Bjorn 11
The constant Force Tour Billon 11 is a 41.5mm watch made from 18K yellow gold. This is the material that John Arnold uses for his luxury pocket watches. Due to the complex internal movement, the thickness is 13.7mm. I’ll spend my time on this soon. Arnold and his son have equipped this dressy watch with twin sapphire crystal to achieve a depth rating of 30 meters. Midnight blue crocodile straps with matching 18K pin buckles are not made for water, but the watch can withstand drizzle.
The dial is hi to me
Balaz and I met Arnold and my son at Geneva Watch Days last August. The brand showed a rendering of Tourbillon 11. At the time, I felt it was special, but it confirmed my beliefs. The brand uses an 18K 3N gold base on the dial and is finished with white Grand Feuillenamel. It looks so pretty, it’s like porcelain and for some reason, I love porcelain. In fact, the white is very buttery and smooth, so the rest of the dial details are almost falling out. largely…
A&S5219 Movement
There’s a lot to unfold when it comes to the A&S5219 manual winding movement in the Constant Force Tourbillon 11. Flip the watch over to the back and reveals a view of you fighting the front for the best in your class. Seriously, what a one-two punch! The inscription was at the pinnacle of a movement honoring two historic watchmakers, and yes, Breguet was pleased to have Arnold & Son produced this piece. This movement is a traditional tour billon, but includes two barrels in series. This will help the exercise achieve a 100-hour power reserve.
The front of the movement shows the escape of certain abilities. It is located between the tourbillon and the train you are heading to. The 18K bridge ensures a mechanism and rotates for more than a minute. Just like clockwork, a constant force system creates a deadbeat second display that is displayed through the blue anchor bridge, the symbol of Arnold and his son. Again, it’s lovely to see the movement in metal. The English style finish with sculpture and angularis is also impressive.
Other Thoughts on Constant Power Tour Bjorn 11
Honestly, I’m not usually a fan of traditional style watches with tour billons. I grew up watching a lot in the store when all the complicated movements were rage. But something about this Arnold and his son’s work hit me. It’s very beautiful and simple, yet very mechanical. Lacking design fluidity is the antithesis of modern skeletonized watches. Yes, I want to own one of these. Sadly, the brand offers just 11 examples, and perhaps as well. The price is CHF 129,800 and is spicy, but I think it’s an admission fee for owning something really special.
