We don’t just go to watches and wonders to get all new watches. They also look at the overarching themes that appear in the show and look at the big picture. Today’s episode of Fratello Talks looks at some of the trends I felt the most prominent of the year. These are things we expect as the year progresses. This is an influential factor that shapes what watch brands do over the coming months. Dern and Rex join Nacho for some trending spotting and discuss some of the most interesting and prominent things they noticed during the fair. Of course, it’s time to quickly check your wrists before doing that.
Wrist check
Start checking this list with Lex and his Super-Luminova sweater. Today he wears a Grand Seiko SBGX341 on his wrist. He owned a watch for four years, which is rarely apart from him. Between this year’s watch and the incredible fair, he was lucky to meet a man responsible for designing this charming, angular quartz watch.
Dern has been rocking the new Seiko 6105-8000 since 1968. If you’ve noticed the recent buying trends of Frater’s editors, there are cases where you can make vintage diving watches. After owning the latest version of this diver, the Prospex SPB317, Daan was recently tempted to add a vintage original to his collection. Keep an eye out for the side-by-side articles that will soon come.
Nacho leaned against the red text of his Tudor Pelagos FXD, matching it with a burgundy NATO strap. It’s a bold look and it’s not something that he’s likely to make the mainstay. But sometimes it’s fun to go with something different that will help you look at the watch with fresh eyes.
