Have you ever wanted to buy a vintage watch, but has it been postponed to a potential pitfall? Well, this Fratero Talks episode is for you. Today, Nacho, RJ and Thomas share advice on buying vintage watches. They’ve been doing it themselves for years. In Thomas’ case, he even had a history working as a dealer at Amsterdam Watch at today’s show, and they combine their expertise to distill advice on taking their first steps towards vintage watches. So, wander at the edge of your first vintage purchase or make sure you’re a fan of the field. And if you are one of the latter, we hope you will ring out your advice words in the comments section below. But now it’s time to check your wrists!
Wrist check
We start with Thomas, who has his VPC type 37HW back on his wrist and continues his old trick again. It’s an exciting time for the brand, as there are rumours that Thomas is in the process of designing a successor to his debut model!
After a short break, RJ made a spin on Sedona Gold’s Omega Constellation Glovemaster today. He had this watch for eight years, so Sedona’s golden rose tone faded somewhat, and the pink tint became less. This watch is a great example of Omega’s ability to incorporate design elements from the 1950s and provide a modern spin.
And Nacho chose a vintage watch to suit this topic. His choice today is his 1961 Omega Seamaster ref. 14762. This is one of many vintage watches in Nacho’s Armory. After all, he’s not a stranger to this topic as he cut his teeth (clockwise) with an affordable vintage piece.
