Russell Sheldrake
We can get a little tribe in the watch community. Whether you’re a professional or an anti-dating window, you could be a dev collector of military watches with zero interest in anything that doesn’t watch the fight, and maybe you have a deep passion It’s not possible. Independent. We have staff here that +Tide falls into all these camps and so on, but what I learned from starting work here over a year ago is a deeper level of democratization in the Sellita SW500 Movement family. I was grateful for this.
I’ve not personally been a huge fan of chronographs, but I’ve always understood their appeal and how hard it is for them to develop from scratch. So I had a clear moment when I started to see a common thread running through some of the most familiar chronographs on the market. This allowed us to focus a bit on the SW510 branch of this family tree and provide a list of what we think is the best use of the SW500 move.
Balto Titrico Pax
There is a great sense of security as to the vintage tones the Baltic Sea can achieve in the Tricompax range. The French brand was able to capture the essence of the historic chronograph, and packaged it in a completely modern way, with the Sellita SW510 sitting at the heart of this concept. Whether it’s a Panadian or River Spanada dial layout, they look like they’ll hit the mark every time, whether it’s lucky enough to get one of the Peter Auto Limited Editions. , the touch you want to have on a watch like this. Price: USD 1,727.
More Far Bernina Titanium
I have been on the record by stating the enjoyment of produce that is farther than products. This Bernina chronograph is no exception. It is wrapped in titanium, so it feels like the wrists of this 41mm watch cannot be compared to its steel counterpart. For me, something that always stands out and stands out is how I chase bold designs for an incredibly standardized watch, and this model is no exception. Choosing the off-white and red dial combination, this will speed up the sense of the Alaska Project, but with a small pop of blue that will help to soften the overall vibe. Price: USD 1,995.
Studio UnderD0G Salm0n 03Series
If I don’t include the recent pivot to Switzerland for Studio Underd0G, I think I’m doing my own thing. Salm0n brought us the classic under 10G creativity with the elevated feeling that only movements generated inside 26 cantons can give you. This is also the only watch on my list (this may be an oversight I’m trying to fix at a later date). I’m a huge fan of the Monopusher Chronograph because of its simplicity in appearance and functionality. It felt incredibly authentic and well worthy for Rich and his team to introduce this move to the brand like this, worth increasing the price from the 01 series. Price: 2,000 US$
Aera C-1
This is a very minimalist approach to making a chronograph. As a company, Aera has always been a leading design leader, and popular pilots and diving watches set the tone, so these chronographs, released last year, are in a very contrast to the brand’s striped back philosophy. We have shown how it can be applied in aesthetics. Shadows and clouds both play very well, with black white and red contrasts, demanding your attention from the shadows, but the soft, calm tone of the clouds provides a quieter way of communicating time I will. Price: 2,250 USD
Hanheart 415 es
Hanhart is one of the brands that has an unexpectedly incredible history in its rugs. Those who know about it warm their hearts by having the flying logo printed on the dial, but everyone else can understand the complexity of making this type of chronograph. You can measure industrial components using the red scale. There are many things about the 415ES. And that’s even before we reach the movement of the SW510 inside. Price: 2,390 euros.
