If the dog is a man’s best friend, can the watch be his second best friend? Which box should I check for this watch? Well, don’t idolize the material to that extent. But even so, having a watch that can entail all your methods with confidence, your path can certainly create deep gratitude and strong connections.
We are looking for a clock that can accompany the owner during daily activities at home, in the office, or while walking your best friend. However, this watch should also be suitable for ski trips and mountain bike rides in the mud. In other words, we wanted to find a ghada (go anywhere, do anything) that suits people with a sporty lifestyle and the ambition to have it. With the Alpina team, I came up with the answer! Meet the Alpina x Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator.
Alpina x Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator – Leans against the sporty side of Gada
Let’s face it: Our daily lives have changed dramatically over the past five years. For many, the time has gone away from filing a lawsuit in the morning and heading to the office. Working from anywhere is a new norm for many, from home, your favorite coffee shop, or a coworking space nearby. Even before this new era that sparked from the pandemic, more casual office attire was already an ongoing trend due to the rise of high-tech companies that abolished traditional dress codes. That’s not to say that the suits are gone. But today, even when you go back to the office, it is often a personal choice rather than a requirement.
One of the beneficiaries of this fashion trend was undoubtedly the Gada Watch. Now, don’t get me wrong. I love watching James Bond wear his tuxedo and diving watch as much as the next guy, but that’s Bond, James Bond. To mere humans, this combination tends to look out of place. However, as society moves towards a more casual style, the sporty Gada watches have truly become the perfect wrist bracelet companion. It enhances the casual smart business look during work hours and has a bag with sturdy specifications for everything you work on the afternoon or weekend. It works in two worlds.
We went looking for a watch that reflected this. It reflects that. It is something that doesn’t get too fussy, something that has a character, something that is classy and noticeable, turning its back on the most extreme situations without finding a place in everyday life. You place it on your wrist and come to what it may be there for you. The watch is the Alpina x Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator.
A reasonable specification
The monochrome color scheme of charcoal and steel gives this watch an instantaneous fratero orange, making it easy to wear the dress. But there’s more to it. Because it is a regulator watch, the fine hands have ample space and visual weight from its colour to ensure first-class readability in any situation. More details about the regulator dial layout can be found in more detail.
This Alpina x Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator is a sturdy watch with the same specifications including a depth rating of 200m, sapphire crystal and a rock-shaped automatic movement. I added a Dutch touch by using orange in the middle hand with this regulator dial. Apart from the dial layout, what I like about this watch is the satin brush finish on the bezel, case and bracelet. Two pushers adjacent to the Alpina logo on the bracelet open the butterfly clasp if you want to remove the watch or enjoy watching the movement. With a case diameter of 41mm, lug-to-lug 49.5mm and thickness of 12mm, the sporty Alpina x Fratero Alpina Extreme Regulator also comes with a T-shirt under the shirt cuff. Ideal for people with less than 18cm wrists, I want a sporty Gada watch. It is also perfect for those who prefer to wear a big watch.
It is sturdy enough for your next adventure, and is sophisticated and solid construction so that it will be comfortable on your wrist when paired with your casual outfit.
Reliable caliber
Within the case is the Alpina AL-650 movement, the modified Sellita SW461. This is an automatic caliber with a 4Hz (28,800VPH) frequency and a 38-hour power reserve. Through a transparent caseback, you can admire the inner workings of the Alpiner Extreme Regulator. The black rotor highlights the sporty character of the watch. This exercise is an attempted, tested flagship that will help you. Plus, competent watchmakers can serve it anywhere.
Unknown and interesting regulator layout
One of my first (mechanical) watches had a regulator dial. In fact, it was one of the first wristwatches with such a layout. I’m talking about Chronoswiss Régulateur, where my mother was talented in the late 1990s. The brand’s founder, Gerd R. Lang, created the first serially produced wristwatch in 1987 with a regulator layout. Before that, the regulator layout was primarily clocks. The concept is to split the dial into different segments, with each function (hours, minutes, seconds) having its place. This maximizes accurate dial reading, especially for large central hands.
Often, the regulator (or the French Legres that creates the watch) dial is found on the master clock in the workshop. Watchmakers working there can be used as references to set (and adjust) movements during work. Since Chronoswissrégulateur, we will create regulator watches containing Alpina! Using the Alpiner Extreme Regulator, the brand developed a sporty Gada watch that can be easily classified as more versatile than the leather-covered dress pieces my mother gave me in the 1990s.
The Alpiner Extreme Regulator has a true Regulateur layout, including a large orange middle hand, a 10 o’clock sub-dial of time, and a 6 o’clock sub-dial of travel. Bright orange hands look at the dial at a glance, ensuring proper reading of time. There is no distracting date window here, as the clock simply shows the time that is the most important thing in our lives. And since time won’t wait for you, you’d be better off tracking it properly.
