As soon as Hanhart 415 ES appeared, I learned that it would make a lot of practical experiences a lot of fun. A strange design that matches a decent specification set is certainly a fun review.
This is not the first time that this German watchmaker has reviewed a watch. Last year, I spent time at the more famous 39mm Hanhart 417 ES 1954 Flyback River Spanda. In fact, the 417 series probably contains the most famous models created by today’s brand.
In 1954, Han Heart released the original version of the watch. After the war, the West German Air Force needed a chronograph of the wrist for navigation, and Han Heart was assigned to produce something to meet this need. Thus, the original Hangheart 417 (chrome -plated brass case) and 417 ES (abbreviation for German stainless steel) were born.
Connection with Han Heart with Hollywood icon
It is thought that less than 1,000 people in the latter were produced. These were not for private sales, but strictly for the West German army. Nevertheless, Steve McQueen, a Hollywood actor (and a good -looking man), has been owned. McQueen took a picture of a band -style strap.
In addition to the fact that the clock can only be used by the army, McQueen was another cool aspect of its specific design. But today we are looking a little different. The Hanhart 415 ES uses the same 39mm case as the 417 ES 1954, and is packed with many of the same specifications (this is a good thing). But it also provides a strange character in itself. Let’s jump in.
Han Heart 415 ES
Let’s start with the specifications. The Hanhart 415 ES contains a stainless steel case with a diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 13.5 mm, and contains a sapphire crystal with a dome. This makes the clock a little thicker on the thick side, but it is certainly not too thick. This is also helped by a comfortable 46mm rag -to -rug and can be worn well with a wrist of about 16cm (6.25 inches). The rotating bezel is two -way and contains matte black ceramic inserts.
The extra -large push -pull crown offers an excellent winding action, and the pump -style pusher has a crisp feel when activating the chronograph function. It is not surprising that Sellita’s Chronograph Calibers now proves a sturdy main horse, so that the bent action is very satisfying.
Colorful layout, classic logo, reliable movement
The Hanhart 415 ES dial is matte black, which is useful for readability, considering the arrangement of the color here. First, the Super Minova time marker is the yellow goldfish. Next, the tachimeter and sub -dial scale are white, and the scales of 100 units turn red. In the time and minute hands, there is a simple, direct double tapered shape, a nice golden finish, and a yellow Super Minova X1. In the dial, Han Heart uses a logo with wings of the 1960s. This is very cool. I am surprised that the brand does not use this logo more frequently.
The diameter inside is Sellita SW510 m. This is a hand -rolled movement that provides a 58 -hour electric reserve. This watch also comes with a healthy 100m water resistance evaluation.
Take Hang Heart 415 ES in the water
Of course, I had to take it underwater, considering one of the latest release of Han Heart and the opportunity to spend time. As you know, when I hear that the brand has released a clock with water -resistant to the surface, my ears always stab. If you have the opportunity to get a practical opportunity with a watch with this function, I can bet on your dollar to take it to the sea!
Thankfully, Sydney experienced a beautiful weather. The aquatic conditions were wonderful, and there were transparent water and relatively calm sea. This is all the ideal conditions for taking this Han Heart to a little aquatic adventure. So, when I took a rest for a while, I decided to take Han Heart 415 ES to swim.
A watch built to last long
Hanhart 415 ES is very sturdy. The weight and the bezel action creates the immediate impression of a well -made clock. It is easy to use the bezel water. By mixing the inner marker on the dial and the Arabic numbers, it can be easily conveyed under the water. This is converted to a better readability. This is a place where the combination of color works well with Han Heart’s favor. The contrasting color creates a kind of color map that the brain can use to quickly read the dial. At least this is what happened to me after using the watch.
One of this is the color used in time markers. This was the point of competition among some reviewers. It’s a bit unusual, not a fake green blue or gold. Previously, I called it “yellow of goldfish”, but the tone seems to be slightly changing according to the conditions of the lighting. Therefore, the dear reader of the reader comes up with the impression of the color from the image. What I can say is that when I saw a metal clock, I liked this color. When I looked at the clock in online rendering, I was surprised at me because I was not a big fan. Again, online rendering does not perform the clock justice.
Conclusion idea
I didn’t think this color combination would work. However, when I stayed from the Han Heart box, the combination began to grow to me immediately. As a whole, Hanhart 415 ES is an interesting chronograph. Spans the border between the vintage (looks) and the modern (in the build). The 39mm case size combined with a short rag toolag is fun to wear, so it is necessary to make it comfortable for many sizes.
Although this color combination works (it is one fair expression of the original), it is wonderful that HANHART will release a version with a more classic monochromatic colorway. Han Heart is a relatively underestimated brand. It’s good to see that the designers there are starting to experiment with some vintage designs. But what do you think, Fratelli? Is this a clock that you can see what you own? Please tell me in the comments.
