Oris proudly launched the ProPilot X Caliber 115 in 2019. The announcement event at that time was held in Shanghai, China. Now, five years later, the brand is unveiling a new limited edition of the impressive ProPilot X with a 10-day power reserve for the upcoming Lunar New Year. According to the Chinese, 2025 is the year of the Wood Snake, encouraging inner reflection and outward progress. Oris has decided to celebrate this occasion with a limited edition ProPilot X Caliber 115 dedicated to the Year of the Wood Snake.
When Oris unveiled the ProPilot X Caliber 115 in Shanghai, the emphasis was on a fully skeletonized movement. This allows the wearer to see and fully enjoy the impressive mechanical structure of the hand-wound Oris Caliber 115. Of course, the movement inside the new limited edition Oris ProPilot X Caliber 115 is still skeletonized, but there are a few tweaks to connect it. In line with this year’s theme. Let’s take a look.
Oris ProPilot X Caliber 115 Year of the Snake Limited Edition
No other variant of the ProPilot X Caliber 115 has existed since the all-gray version was introduced nearly five years ago. This new limited edition is technically identical to its predecessor. That means the case is 44mm wide, 12.5mm thick, and 50mm lug-to-lug. The sleek-looking case and bracelet are both made from grade 2 titanium, while the engine rotating bezel is made from a slightly harder grade 5 titanium alloy. A crown guard on the right side of the case protects the screw-down crown, making the entire structure water resistant to 100 meters.
What sets the Oris ProPilot X Caliber 115 apart from other ProPilot X models is its skeletonized movement. In the original model, the dial, or what was left of its frame, was gray like the rest of the watch. This limited edition of the New Year’s Snake has an openwork dial in cyan color, representing the wooden zodiac element. Another unique feature of this version is the power reserve indicator hand in the shape of a snake’s tongue. Since it is gold, it can attract more attention.
The Oris Caliber 115 is even more visible from the back of the watch. However, it looks exactly like the original 2019 version of the ProPilot X. Name and LE number of this version.

The Oris Caliber 115 is a hand-wound movement with an excellent power reserve. The length of the mainspring is 1.2 meters. This allows for a power reserve of 10 days (240 hours). It’s actually closer to the 12th, but Oris is staying on the safe side by officially announcing the 10th. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and features 38 jewels. There is a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock on the dial, and a sub-seconds register between 7 and 8 o’clock.
first impression
It’s interesting to see Oris bring back a watch that hasn’t received much attention since its introduction in 2019. I think the cyan color of the dial goes well with the skeletonized movement. I don’t generally like the monochrome look, so the more contrasting design of the ProPilot X Caliber 115 Year of the Snake Limited Edition suits my tastes better.
The Oris ProPilot X Caliber 115 Year of the Snake is a limited edition of 88 pieces and is priced at €8,200. Already sold out on the Oris website, but still available from Oris boutiques and other retail partners around the world.
