Welcome to another episode of Fratello On Air! This week, our hosts discuss vintage watches that currently pique their interest. But before we get to that, there’s plenty of jokes about sneakers and watches. For your convenience, content viewing begins after 20 minutes.
Vintage watches are some of our favorites. We are always thinking about what to buy next. In this episode, we talk about why you should search auction sites and sales message boards. We also discuss the vintage market and the watches that will become popular (again).

Christmas came early in Germany and England. Mike received the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 through the eBay Verification Program, and Balazs received the latest Nike x Travis Scott shoes from StockX. Next, we discuss a recent watch event held in London by 289 Consulting in collaboration with 25 brands including Raymond Will, Crayon, Doxa, Altia, Favre-Leuba, and more. This intimacy is refreshing and a great way to see many watches at once. At Handgelenkskontrolle, Balazs is wearing the upcoming Albishorn Air chronograph. I can’t say much about it, but it’s a different take on vintage aviator chronographs. Mike is wearing the black dial 18K Movado Curviplan that he just received. This watch comes from France and was an adventure to purchase.
Vintage watches are attracting attention
The main topic is about vintage watches. We would like to ask you about the Movado chronograph, Angelus and Balazs Hungarian military watches. Mike adds to the list a tank, a great early Heuer Carrera 2447, and a later gold-dial Rolex Submariner and GMT-Master. Next, we’ll discuss the current vintage market and how simple dress watches became popular. However, these watches have limitations, such as the lack of commonly known popular models. We also think that 60s chronographs will slowly come back to prominence. Additionally, vintage Rolex sports watches, such as the 5512 that Mike reviewed earlier, are starting to wake up from their long slumber.
As always, thank you for listening to our latest episode. If you have any ideas for future shows, please let us know!
