Welcome to another episode of Fratello On Air! This week, we have a different episode style than usual. Our friendly co-hosts check in with us on the go at Geneva Watch Days 2024. Ultimately, we aim to give you a feel for the non-stop schedule and what it’s like to be a part of the show. There’s no pre-talk, so just tune in and listen.
We’re back from the Geneva Watch Days 2024 where we turned on the microphone for short segments while we were on the move with the show. You’ll hear us discuss the schedule, brands, individual watches, people, shoes and much more. We hope you liked it. If not, we’ll be back next week with a more regular episode.
Hand Control
While recording most of the segments, we tried to talk about the watches we had on our wrists. Mike limited his choices to a Ming 17.09 Blue and a Patek Philippe Calatrava 570, because he had previously “fun” with them at the Swiss border. Barras was a bit more daring, with a Rolex Submariner 5513, a Ming 17.09 Burgundy, and a Sinn Excelsior Park Chronograph. Choosing a watch for an event like Geneva Watch Days can be tricky, so it’s often best to choose a brand that isn’t exhibiting. It also helps to consider a relatively durable watch when you’re out in humid weather with temperatures over 30 degrees. As an aside, none of our watches were damaged.
Travelling in Geneva
Barras and I spent three days at Geneva Watch Days 2024 and felt like we made the most of our time at the event. Meetings started at 9am and lasted until at least 6pm. Afterwards, the after-hours events began in the main tent or at brand-specific parties. We chatted over espressos and water while going back and forth between the hotel and the boutiques. What about food? I have to make a conscious effort to remember to eat! Still, we had a lot of fun and got to see some great watches. I hope you enjoyed today’s episode. Join me next week as we wrap up Geneva Watch Days 2024 by discussing our favorite watches from the event.
Thanks for watching! If you have any ideas for future episodes, let us know!
